Why not just bring back the stat buff? I know I get an adrenalin jolt whenever I see a cute twi doing the robot. Would a mind or action regen buff be too gamebreaking?

Yes, I have known Thor (Owen Lars) our Esteemed Ranger Corr. since release just about.... We started a guild together and I would say I know him bout better then anyone on SWG and he was, in fact, a Dancer...... Those were some of the BEST laughs I received while playing SWG.... he use to have all these different color body suits like in red, blue etc... and he made a macro so that he would switch suits very fast so it made him look like he was blinking colors.... Not only that he SANG too... it was HILARIOUS!!!! ..... awe, the good ol' days when Thor was a dancer heh... /manyhugs for my Thor (Thor, you know what i wanna call ya, but gotta keep it clean here)

I think the news sounds like a step in the right direction
Class specific buffs? yes please! the "Props" and other ideasmaybe the entertainers can actualy entertain and perform , Im certain many of them will relish the roleplay factor , could very well spice things up for the creative performers/entertainers.
Also , something id enjoy .. I Imagine it will be nigh impossible to be really creative and perform with props etc while AFK... so actual liveinteraction will be nice for a change rather then gawking at a scantily clad afk zabrak galfor 3 or 4 minutes to get "inspired" and lose battlefatigue
and SOE slides down the slipery slope of stupidity. first you dumb down specials and such to be cookie-cutter damage levels. then you make everything level-based, including damage. then you remove crafting from doctor. then you remove the one thing that keeps the kombat kiddies from grinding all day everyday.
Patch 20- they're removing all current weapons from the game and will instead have a single gun for each profession. This will create a new level of fun and excitement as players go on the endless search for where their 15 bucks a month is going.
This just seems like such a stupid thing to do. I mean in WoW and EQ2 you have vitality. You have to take breaks from your characters grind. As a EQ2 player it really does dictate how you play. But SWG has always encouraged people to grind 24 hours a day using illegal TOS programs (actmaker anyone?) And this just continues this trend.
I want a reason to play SWG fulltime again. I really really do. But the loss of friends when the CURB came out. The mishandling of the alpha testers. The continued push towards SWG becoming a BH vs Jedi game really makes me want to just walk away (why not just do Planetside 2 and have BH vs Jedi and save us all a lot of issues).
Battlefatique was most felt by the grinders who it hurt by lowering their buffs. Outside of that they didnt care. Post CURB this doesnt matter anymore. But it was still there in some small way.
Give us EQ2's vitality system. This game was supposed to be about the casual gamer not the grinder. We have lost our path.

I don't know. I read the comments as diversifying the abilities of the entertainers more than simply dumbing it down. If they had said they were just removing BF and left it at that, I would probably agree. But if they remove that one ability and replace it with multiple abilities that are actually useful, I would see it as a step in the right direction.

let's put it this way: if SOE removed combat specials from combat profs, but added "combat buffs" that each profession could use in battle, wouldn't you consider that a dumbing down of the game? Just because they add more things, doesn't mean those thigns will be as usefull or neccesaryas the skills entertainers currently enjoy.
I can add 20 new skills to Ranger while taking away harvesting and tracking. But unless those 20 new things are more usefull than harvesting and trapping, it wouldn't be a positivegain. Gaining new skills doesn't mean gaining more powerful skills.

IMHO - which is never humble -
Can they dumb the game down any more?
First they give away ranger abilities to every TomRIchard and Hairy (got to include wooks) that wanders along. Now they are killing the entertainers.
Ground control to Devs - ever hear the 90/10 rule?? 90% of the whining is from 10% of the people. Cater to the masses, not the morons and you make money. Quit listening to the minority or you will be seeing a mass exodus to other games.
Who was it posted on WoW? Hey Kari, you said you played, was it any good? Can rangers actually ranger there?
JB
You forgot to mention the workaround screwing of the ranger.
Rangers root. Rangers snare. No one else does. "Let us use our traps on npc's and players,"we say. "No, too overpowered,"say the devs. CU comes along. Roots and snares taken from our exclusive care, made into weapon specials, handed out to the masses. All is well for a day or two. "Nerf!"cry certain cliques within the masses. Roots and snares destined for the chopping block. Rangers sad.
Is there a star wars equivalent of branson, missouri? Is there a place where old rangers and entertainers can go to live out their days, and remember when they used to be somebody? If there is, I'll bet it's on rori.

I actually had writtensomething very similar regarding Rangersbut dropped it in the end. It went something like this:
If the Devs said they were dropping Foraging from the Ranger profession and adding camp modules (see the Outdoorsman proposal), would that be considered a good thing or a bad thing?
The current BF system is about as simple a concept as you can get when it comes to the Entertainers. All they have to do is click StartDance or StartMusic and walk away. It doesn't get any simpiler than that. Which is why ithas always been the#1 AFK profession in the game.
