I'm in the same boat. I keep going back and forth on my privateer between wanting that RSF master badge for roleplay reasons and wanting to fly with my rebel pilot friends. As a result, I have about a dozen of those mercenary bandoliers.

My ranger though is rebel pilot all the way. Going for 2-2-2-2 this morning!

I'm a 2-2-2-2 imperial storm squadron pilot and inching my way closer to getting a Tie interceptor - what a cool looking ship.

I should add that JTL has brought new life to the game for me, Space combat brings a whole new dimesion andI love the idea of a leved flight sim.

There are 10 types of people in this world... those who know binary and those who don't.

Scarin - Eclipse Master Ranger / Master Swordsman
Siarra Oman - Noob scout on Wanderhome, home of the great ranger meet up.

2/2/2/2 (taking as slow as i take ranger and scout. just enjoy the flying and the shootin).

Right now i'm flying in a modified Z-95 (yes you heard that right).

I spend most of my time trying to squeeze the last bit of capability out of this underrated ship.

The speed and manevuerability are excellent (the player made one that is), and with the engine i managed to snag (low low mass with high maneuvering and speed) i zip along making other players hate me.

trust me, this ship is WAY underrated.

Yes and no--at low levels it's still usable but the mass limit is way too low for higher tiers. I currently use up just about all of my 65k mass in my A Wing and wish I had more to spare. I even have my Y Wing just about maxed out on mass(much better guns and shields than my A Wing, though). The high level components really add up.

The mass constraints are pretty tough, but i've shot down a bunch of Tier 3 and 4 ships with this thing. Takes a lot more hits, but i also soak up a lot less (my Y-wing feels like a bullseye sometimes).

A better weapon does not always win the battle. Sometimes just frustrating the enemy because they can't hit or chase you is enough to make them drop their guard, then you can whittle them away (hit and run tactics...my fav)

Most of the fun for me is trying to find those items that can let you squeeze it in there, or making the decision for more speed or more firepower/protection.

What i tend to do is leave the armor out, and just fit in a better shield gen and engine. Makes it a lot easier to dodge hits and such. Boosters are nice very high, but if i can get a booster with low mass but low consumption it works as a quick jump to get out from the enemy's sights.

i use the Ywing longprobe for the heavy work of cracking open the larger ships and such, but for my fun rides i prefer the z95. (and up to Awing when i get the cert).

i'm not saying it's the know all be all, just that it's pretty underrated. I've had more than my share of people that want to duel becuase i'm in it, and are very upset when they can't kill me.

I too have taken to the stars.

The time at which I got JTL worked in quite nicely with my hunting. I live on Tatooine, but I'd spent three weeks on Lok, and then even though I was going crazy, spent a few days on naboo for another job. So, I'd made some money and I seriously needed a break.

I've signed up as a freelancer smuggler pilot. I was interested in CorSec. I'm a kind policeman already in my village, so fancied taking that further, but I wanted to be based on Tatooine and my village is very close to Mos Eisely anyway.

As for being a "Space Ranger", well I really want to do this. The only way you could possibly say you're doing this at the moment is going up dogfighting, just for the sake of gathering loot. Doing that makes you feel a bit likeyou're a bit of a ranger, but not too much since it's a hit-and-miss process. Once they add mining to JTL, and you have to go out surveying for exotic minerals (I hope they add this), then that will be abit more like hunting for good resources.

Unless of course they add space monsters! (Empire Strikes Back: "this is no cave!").

I didn't use buffs or uber armour, so why did the combat revamp have to spoil my game?

I've been doing a little of everything, so I got varrious stages on varrious servers. Consiquently, I'm a tad behind everyone else. I joined CorSec (has something to do with my original Bio ). Fred Skinner, CorSec Ranger

I'm a 3332 freelancer pilot, currently flying for the biggest grub on Tatooine.

I like my Ixyien (or however that is spelled) called "Space Ranger One" :

Has a nice engine sound - and I'm still faster thanmy guildmembers

I had a JTL question, and since Rangers know all (its true, we do) I thought I'd ask... us.

Im in a imperial guild, though I personally have no affiliation with the empire other than the few faction points required to get me into the faction. I see myself as more of a free agent, but happy to work with the current government body rather than the terrorist rebels. So at the moment I'm Hutt aligned pilot, but is there a freelance "faction", that are more aligned to the imperials than to their own goals? And if I change, will I have to go through novice pilot again?

I'm currently a 1-1-1-1 CorSec pilot. I already have a couple of characters doing the Smuggler's Alliance and I don't spend all that much time on Naboo, so CorSec seemed like the right choice.
