Thread: Do we REALLY want battle armor instead of recon?

All they need to do to balance armor right now is to allow armorsmiths to craft psg's with kinetic resistance. Problem solved, balance achieved. With things as they are now however, battle armor is superior to anything else. you can get battle armor made in the 6550 range on resists, and a psg crafted to around 2400.Even the best recon armor out there offers no better protection against ranged energy attacks than that.

But yea recon armor makes more sense. Not cause of the name, but because its geared to be light, flexible

I don't want to start another argument here...but what is "light and flexible" about Recon armor? I'm just as fast and flexible in a suit of Composite armor because I have all the armor mitigation. There is no difference between a person in Ubese and a person in Chitin, except for the resists if they both have the mitigation.

So I'm a bit mystified as to what exactly makes recon armor"light and flexible". What in-game difference is there, other than theprotection from certain types of damage? Am I missing something here?

The only in game differences are the def against certian types of damage... I guess I am refering to a "look" or a role playing aspect.

Combat armor is bulky and heavy by design...

Recon armor is like heavy clothing, leather and the like....

Is there a game mech to it? No. But speaking in story or in character would it make more sense for a spy to be wearing 50 pounds worth of steel or 5 pounds worth of leather?

-EDIT-

Again I want to say personally I like battle armor... it looks awesome on my toon and I have bought several sets of this type armor...
