I've already forwarded your in-game email to several other novice rangers that I trained tonight that found me while I was on my way to Lok (I'm sitting in my camp on lok now letting my pet heal-up from a badly handled mynock fight and I'm out of pet stims... bah! HTFB just auto-disbanded while I was typing this - I hate that).

I like the 3-letter moniker also over a 2-letter one, but can you be a member of 2 PAs at once? Is a hall even necessary? Ray originally spoke of a guild of sorts and not necessarily a PA with a hall. I've been part of a group since pre-release that is probably going to place our PA hall this weekend also. RAF sounds too much like Royal Air Force, but RTF doesn't sound too bad.

I don't have a problem contributing something to the slush fund if I can join both.

i haven't seen Bloodfin represented, so here i am again.

if there hasn't been someone yet, i'll be the point of contact for the Bloodfin server for the RAF or whatever it may end up being called.

Please mail me in-game so that i may start a player list.

Just a couple IMHO's:

1. would like to see it open to only Master Rangers. this may sound elitist, but like someone else posted, i don't want someone milking any perks associated with this guild (and i'm sure there will be perks). Master Ranger is an elitist profession, especially for those of us now master, before you get xp for fishing and making camps.this would also provide more incentive to gain master ranger.

2. provide a one-stop-shop for only the highest quality Bone/Hide/Meat. several professions require these orgs with high (900+) PE,OQ, etc... i recently sold 1k of lokian avian meat for 17.5k to a doctor (800+PE/900+OQ). there is a demand for these and prices should reflect this. i have yet to see a vendor that sold 1K lots of high quality orgs.

3. obtain special requests for orgs. need 3k of Endorian wooly hide? no problem, have it for you tomorrow, at 15cr per (or whatever). 5-10 rangers shuttle over and toss some traps on endor.

4. after new skills rolled in, rangers - especially master rangers- can lead big game hunting trips. and since most will want to harvest on these expeditions, a nominal fee will be applied to cover the cost of not harvesting, and providing high level camps.

whatever form this RAF takes, i believe the inherent character of someone willing to become a master ranger will make this a very powerfull, profitable, and fun guild.

to facilitate the grouping of those rangers who want to be part of this thread's subject, i will be opening a "ranger" chat channel upon logging in. i am logged on most times, so this channel should be as well.

this will be used to meet other rangers for hunts, training, passing on info of superior harvsets, discussing possible PA forms, etc...

I encourage someone on the other servers to do the same, as it would be a very usefull tool.

I completely forgot about Babylon5 Rangers and was only thinking Army Ranger and/or Forest Ranger, I love that tie to space considering the universe we live in.

i have created a chat channel on the Bloodfin server. all rangers are encouraged to join to share info, get training more rapidly, group for hunting missions, etc.. also would like tochat withanyone interested in startingthis loose guild or whateverit evolves into.

All very valid points. Unfortunately I was late getting back today and don't have time at the moment to respond, but I like everything being said. Our ahazi meeting is tonight and i will ask those questions and more.

Also: One of the major concerns expressed is the fact that many of you are in other guilds, starting your own PA, or planning on being with your buddies in other guilds. And although it just hit home, I too, have actually had this reservation in the back of my mind because some of my non-ranger buds will eventually join a PA down the road and I'd obviously like to have the option of joining.

So no, I don't really see any problem with that in general. However, that said, I do want a central body out of this - whether it is looked at as a union, PA or whatever. I want a firm set of ranger rules, a governing body and basically all the perks of a PA, including a hall which will be the governing center or whatever you wish to refer to it as. Those that can and want to can carry the tag until they join something else.

Again, something that needs to be decided and discussed. I'm beginning to like the sound of Ranger Elite Force better and better.

I don't post on these boards too often, so I just now read about this. I think this is a great idea, and I'm definately interested in joining. Unfortunately, I won't be able to log in tonight for the conference. I'll try sending you an in-game e-mail as soon as I can though zkull. Just a thought on the name, maybe The Ranger Force Alliance? Just a suggestion. Anyway, hope to see you in game.
