There are defenitely things I would like modified in Ranger



  • Traps - Give us new useful traps. Fix our current Traps.Give Master Ranger Box some cool new Traps.

  • Camps - Give us Camps with better useful ness such as the Modular Camping Idea brought to light by Owen

  • Give us special defenses vs Creatures and Wilderness Bonuses.

Traps :



  • Planet Specific Traps?

  • Pit Traps (Basically a hole in the ground we dig then spikes are laid in it.


    • This trap Causes the Creature To Start Bleeding and Stops them from moving for 20 Seconds as wel as dealing damage. When setting the trap a progress bar is displayed

  • Planet Specific Lures for Carnivores / Hebivores

  • Pheromone Goo Trap (Draws Nearby Animals into a Frenzy attacking the Creature Trapped)

Camps



  • Entrenched Campsites


    • Progress Bar Displayed when deploying such a camp, give the camp an almost impenetrable barrier (Physical Barriers such as Brush to Match PlanetsEnvironment?)

  • Modular Camps


    • Possible Modules could be Planet Specific Repellants (If someone is being attacked and they run to the camp the creature is likely to be frightened by the smell and run away and despawn? Also stops Aggro Animals from Spawning within 100 M)

    • Planet Specific Visual and Useful Camoflage (People within the Camps borders Disapear from Radar Completely as long as they remain inside the camp perimeter)

    • Watchtower (Wooden Construction you climb up or has ramps up to the top so you can see the surrounding terrain more easily.)

    • Power Generator (Recharges Droids Inside the Camp)

    • Bacta Station (Heals Wounds and Damage Quickly as well as Fire, Disease etc)

    • Stage (Allows BF to Heal like in Cantinas and other player owned Structures)

    • Mini All Purpose Factory (100 items max)

    • Mission Terminals

    • Big Game Mission Terminals

Other Stuff (Random Thoughts)



  • Ranger Hat (Requires Master Ranger Box to Wear)

  • Ranger Quests

  • Ranger Quest Schematics (For say a Ranger Hat, or New Traps, or Camps, or Camp Modules))

  • Ranger Tools that increase harvesting when equiped - Takes longer to harvest(Master Ranger Quest, Useable only by Master Ranger)

  • Blood Sample (Can be converted by a Bio-Engineer into DNA Sample, or Used by a Ranger in Repellant and Attractant Traps, or camps)

  • Ranger Hat could Grant a +25 to all Ranger Abilities (Maskscent, Camouflage, Trapping, Harvesting, Camping, Foraging etc)

  • Rangers can Craft Looted Animal Parts into Objects (Rancor Tooth can be used in a Creature Part Stand Meant to Allow Rangers to Display Trophies)

  • More Ranger Trophies (Skulls, Pelts, Skeletons, Other)

  • Small Wooden Replicas of Animals (Ranger can use Whittlers Knive to Carve a Replica of animals killed on Ranger Quests)

  • Rangers able to dig Warfare Trenches (Now that you can use natural trenches for cover why not have man made trenches to carry out trench type PvP Warfare)

  • Ranger Wilderness Signs (Rangers able to craft small signs only visable to other Rangers (Tracking IV)saying something like Torath was here Peko Peko Albatross Sighted) Decays in like 4-6 hours or maybe days?

  • Ranger Lamps

  • Ranger Maps, Programmable Into Datapad Items that give Special Waypoints To certain Creature Sightings. (Blurrg Raptors, Graul Marauders, Peko Peko Albatrosses) The Datapad info decays after 4 days, or whenever the Ranger sets it to. Ranger can keep it as an item that will spit out the info into anyones datapad that pays the fee. So you could set it up in a house like a terminal and someone could pay the fee for a copy into their datapad.

  • Ranger Hunting Lodge (Like size of a Large House, Ranger Items Crafted inside turn out better, Master Ranger gets +2 Experimentation Points towardsRanger Craftable Itemswhile inside and using the proper crafting station)

  • Ranger Craftable Folding Chairs (Can be used anywhere as long as your sitting)

  • Fish Can be Mounted on Plaques (Created by Rangers, or schematic from Ranger Quests)

  • Baby Critters Can Be Killed For Stuffing for Display?

  • Ranger Hermit Dwelling, basically a small dug into the ground cave, one small entrance goes down about 15 feet and has a chimney and fireplace with a small table and 8 chairs (why? I dunno I always wanted to have a sort of shelter that was temporary but indoor sorta.

  • Bags Made of animal skins, or maybe looted animal hides.

  • Droids actually useful to a ranger

  • Datapads that can be programmed to contain text (like a few pages of text information, so people could write guides and pass them around in a game type of visual format)


Ok I started getting off topic and was just thinking baout Random stuff towards the end but some of what I wrote would be useful.

I'm still testing, but I'm certain that the phecnacine darts turned into snares, and I'm checking on the adhesive mesh, but I think they turned into roots. That will make ranger hunting and traps very effective. I'll try out some more tomorrow after the patch, but this could be very exciting for rangers.

Hence I dont use traps or camps and yet I have to me certified in them in scout??? BS







I use both traps and camping (and very well thank you), tonight for example hunting we had a few inexperience guildies, I would use traps to pull in indvidual critters, while applying states from traps, camps to heal and wait for other members of the guild to join in, or heal up. And as for traps not working on highlevel critters try lvl 149 Frienzed blood boars on endor (yeah the big purple cons) with a well balance team traps came very handy with dealing with them (thanks bone spurs, glow wireand p-darts)

I think it would be good to introduce hunting licensose (excuse spelling i shall refer to these as HL from now on)into the game. These HL would be issued buy a Ranger and would grant the player who bought the HL the ability to hunt on a certin planet. You would not have to purchose a HL on any starting planet with the exception of tat becouse of Krayts ( perhaps a special HL called the Krayt HL.) Some people may wonder how to stop people from hunting if they dont have an HL its simple realy make it so you cant attack the creatures if you dont have on. Thats all i have to say i'm sure alot of people wont like it but i think its a good idea
