Thread: WTH? You cant use your traps in PVP Combat?
I hope they will let us use traps on players/npc's. If not then what the hell is ranger used for? Since people don't really need ranger's for anything then they should at least help us getting more combat skills and more traps that WILL work.
Fishlick Suwanee- MRanger/MRfileman
Haven Suwanee- Nearly Jedi but MCM/MPistoleer atm

Yes, I did respec to Ranger this is an old toon and I have always wanted to try it. But like I said this is NUTTTS! if you cant use your tools for pvp combat. And they need to reconsider this role to non-combat and reduce the skill pts required.
My toon is a MBH+MRanger I love it but I hate the fact that I cant use traps to root my enemy where as I could with Smuggler and Pistolieer.
Please, no. And Please, stop posting like this. The LAST thing most of us want to see is a knee-jerk reaction but the Devs or anyone else about dropping SP cost or stripping out functions of Ranger without thought, based on "the sky is falling!" type posts. There are quite a few great posts here about how to fix / improve / enhance Ranger as a profession that don't involve gutting the profession or reducing the SP cost. While it's not a unanimous point of view, a majority of long-time Rangers, those of us who actually WANT to play Ranger - don't want the SP reduced, we want the SP investment to come with a corresponding set of valuable skills, mods and benefits. Many of us WANT a role in the GCW, many of us WANT Ranger to be MORE combat-oriented, not less. I certainly don't mean to be rude, but please don't post emotional and charged things like this when you're brand new (and a respec to boot) to the profession. If nothing else, take some time to LEARN the profession, figure out what works and what doesn't, and learn that Rangers have the most powerful weapon in the game - their brain.
Since you respec'd in, you lost out on the benefit of learning the profession by coming up through the ranks and seeing what works and what doesn't on you own as part of your journey to Master. Take this time you have now, and go do just that. Then, once you've walked the breadth of all the planets, once you've seen all there is to see, once you've played around with the traps, the camps, and the few skills we have to find out for yourself what works and what doesn't - THEN come here, and post your constructive ideas on how to make the profession better. Or, if you find it's not for you - quietly slip off into the night, knowing that should you ever decide to come back in the future, there will always be a log by the fire for you to sit on.

Ranger is definatly a lifestyle for those who enjoy expiramenting with a profession. Grinding frome noviceto master is a nice way to develope a strategy that works for you. Because of this ranger is not a Respec frendly profession, it gives people the wrong idea about what it's all about and how its supposed to work.
