RIN (Resource/Ranger Information Network) is the most commonly used name for a chat channel that is created by players to share information about resources. However, different servers use different names. If you look through the list of chat channels you might find a RIN, or a Rangers channel. If there is no channel existing than you can create it if you want. For it to work you have to really promote it and use it, make sure the customers know about it as well as the Rangers on your server. When I did resource hunting I often found that the Docs would know where the best avian was before I did. It was a useful tool for asking what is good in shift and who is putting out contracts for what.

Thanks for that hun, I'll check it out when I am next on.

Hope you don't mind a scout's intrusion onto the thread, but I knew from day one that this what I want to be in this game. I'm one good hunt away from 4444 scout and another couple days from starting my Ranger tree and can hardly wait.

I was told too early on to buff and armor up for hunts and am finding out more and more how much more exciting it is to do it the natural way. All I've been using when I go solo is food and drink buffs, docs are too expensive anyways.

But alas, I have taken too much of your time and space with my ramblings.

Oh and by the way, I may go Ranger in RL as well

I started SWG in Feb of 2004 wanting to be a (puts on flame resistant jacket) Master Bounty Hunter. I got to around 2-4-4-4 when i realized how much the investigation tree sucked, and how much BH weapons sucked. I then dropped all Marksman and Scout and went for TKM, Master Medic, and dabbled a bit in Doctor.

I kept running out of money.

So i looked around on the trade forums one day, and saw someone paying 100cpu for Rori Wooly Hide. and i realized that gathering organics is where all the money is at.

so sadly to say, i became a Ranger out of greed. i became a Ranger to make money.

but...

i stay a Ranger because i LOVE being a Ranger, not for the money.

a month or so ago, i got bored with TKM, and i just hit Master Pikeman. So now i'm a Master Pikeman, Ranger 4-1-4-1, Novice Medic, and the rest of my skill points are in politician as i am the mayor of our guild's city.

I though I was going to bea Master Bounty Hunter before release. Once I started playing the more I thought that rifleman would be fun... liked the idea of being the sniper in the distance. During the course of play I found that I really loved the hunting and exploring. Ranger just seemed a natural proggression of what I enjoyed doing in game. Of course, the first time I saw the HTFB I thought it was an NPC structure, when I found out different I knew I had made the right choice to be a Ranger. I haven't regretted it since.
