Well, Ferd, the SotP wouldn't necessarily take too much time. Most of the issues and ideas on it encompass just about everything that the community has come up with lately; I haven't seen many completely new ideas in the past few months. Since everything is already there, all you would need is to be familiar with the thing enough to catch which ideas are new and which aren't.

However, Rfed, while I do think that you would probably be a great correspondent, I can respect your decision to not apply as well.

Seriously, I would have to think about this. I too, can be a hot-head. I sometimes have time to do some things like the AR updates but that SotP takes real time and dedication. I'd rather someone that did have the time and ability to fill Nraas's shoes. I can't even remember our first corr (Yes! surprise, there was one before Nrass).

I do this stuff at work mostly when there is downtime but there can be moments were I might not even log in for a week. Thankfully we finished porting over to the new machine and DB version at work so I got time now, but there are no guaranties a month or two from now.

There is one bonus for you all, you really have to try to misspell Fred.

Ha! Jedi mind tricks don't work with text!

Anyone can be a hot-head but *you* also know how to cool down. Some people never learn that skill.

You don't remember Mineras? For shame. And he was on Eclipse as well. I'll grant you, he wasn't much of a poster.

And I agree, it's not easy to misspell Freud. That's definitely a plus on your resume.

Remember this little gem?

Mineras will be helping the Ranger community by keeping us informed on the major issues with the Ranger profession. Keep in mind, this title will be rotated monthly to take the stress off the current correspondent and to help us get the best feedback possible.

All I will say is....you may like me more soon.

And for the record - I like my job, and I don't want to be promoted. You guys need someone who is a leader of this community. I, unfortunately, am not one of those...merely a member. I'd prefer someone like Calc, Fred or the gang to take this job over me doing it.

My vote would be forJB, Fred, Calc, in that order.

I'd reallyprefer to see Brisc take the job, but that's his choice.

I guess it has something to do with the fact that a lot of the current titles overlap between professions. I know that there's a post in the rifleman forum about title changes, since both sniping iv and hunting iv have the "Hunter" title.

/shudder at the idea of Sniping IV granting the title "Silent Assassin".

I already gave me opinions on who should become the new correspondent, but I would also like to say I dislike the idea of DeltaXi65becoming ours. Nothing personal against him, but I have read some not all of the Scout stuff and he has spent a lot of time within that group. He has the Scouts interests covered and that appears to be his primary concern. Some of the stuff they are proposing is similiar to what we want, but at a low level. Anything they get will only benefit us right, so let him keep fighting that fight. Plus, if he were to become the Ranger Cor, then that would be two Correspondents learning new roles, which will hurt us both at the scout and ranger levels. Whoever takes the role of Ranger correspondent should be well versed with the Outdoorsman and our SOTP, and should be a long time Ranger. Delta, this is in no way a diss on you, and I hope you get everything you are asking for and pushing for in the Scout SOTP, it will help me also.
