Do we even know what the protocol is for the SOE choosing a new correspondant? Perhaps Delta can clue us in a bit?

Well, it changes depending upon the day of the week but there are certain things that help:

Sending a letter to TH showing your knowledge of the profession and explaining why you would be a good correspondent is a start. Doing it before he asks for such letters gets you bonus points for initiative.

Having the support of the community and lots of well written, articulate posts can also play a large role, but it is not required you have the highest post count.

I would prefer we give the body time to get cold before we go getting a replacement. That being said, the can of worms has been opened.

I would nominate Agon (Draknev) or Calculus_Entropy as well, both because of the aforementioned reasons. Both dedicated, passionate, and very PC when dealing with others.

As much as I appreciate Agon's nomination I would not have the time to dedicate to this task. I would not want my Ranger brothers (and sisters)to suffer due to my lack of attention.

"This is not the correspondant you are looking for. Move allong."

Seriously, I would have to think about this. I too, can be a hot-head. I sometimes have time to do some things like the AR updates but that SotP takes real time and dedication. I'd rather someone that did have the time and ability to fill Nraas's shoes. I can't even remember our first corr (Yes! surprise, there was one before Nrass).

I do this stuff at work mostly when there is downtime but there can be moments were I might not even log in for a week. Thankfully we finished porting over to the new machine and DB version at work so I got time now, but there are no guaranties a month or two from now.

There is one bonus for you all, you really have to try to misspell Fred.

Poor Fred

You do also have to remember that FReida Skimmer is very busy with his ranger school. We can't take him away from all those little harvesting want-to bes.

Rederick Skillless just like the others would be good. I like many of the responses from most of the ranger veterans.

It will definately boil down to time. Who has it and who does not. You know whoever takes over will be pushed prodded and pulled in the direction we want. They just have to be able to speak don't need to think LOL.

Guess we will have to wait and see.

For myself, I would vote for Fred or Agon but not for JBmat. I agree that his tendency to put people down is not the desired quality of a correspondent. People should be able to ask any questions in this forum without being made fun of. Hopefully, we will get someone that embodies N'Raas's admirable qualities and positive leadership.

Fred, that way I can bash morons.

And to the one who only read 3 of my threads, try the other 1000 or so, some actually are quite informative. Some have content, some are role playing, but all contain one overriding theme...rasps suck

I agree with all of the current nominations.

However JB if you get cor. please add an entire section in the outdoorsman detailing name changes for each of our skill trees. "Destroyer of Rasp" "You should go BH, you'd fit in" and "Kreetle avoider" come to mind.

I want "Tracker" instead of "Hunt Master".

But yeah, JB or Agon get my vote, even though it doesn't count for anything since I'm no longer a Ranger.
JB can be nice when he wants to. And even if he's wrong about meleers, he's right about the rasps.

Guys,

Basically it's a mixture - TH will ask N'Raas who he thinks would be good candidates.

They will also look at who posts on the thread he'll throw up looking for folks, and they'll go back and read some of the stuff that folks have written, basically looking for maturity, a positive attitude and knowledge of the class. Support from the community is also important, too.

So if you guys have a preferred candidate, be sure and post your support for him in that thread when it's created.

I know of a lot of folks here that could do the job, and I think most of them have already been named here.

Whatever happens, I hope that I can work well with whoever the new RC is, and no, I'm not interested in moving up.
