Just on /conceal. Think it has something to do with camoflauging against other NPC's (BS!) or camoflauging other players.

Camo = Conceal

Maskscent = ...Maskscent

After quite awhile at the top, this thread will soon be replaced with an actual page with frequently asked questions and answers.

Thank you Solusandra for the good works, and good hunting whereever you are now.

  • It is possible to use a camp that you can not make yourself
  • Master Scout: High Quality Camp Kit
  • Frontiering II: Field Base Kit
  • Frontiering III: High Tech Field Base Kit

  • Should Read:

  • It is possible to use a camp that you can not make yourself
  • Master Scout: High Quality Camp Kit
  • Frontiering I: Field Base Kit
  • Frontiering III: High Tech Field Base Kit

  • Assuming it works like all the other camps, at least. I'm just going by logic, not experience

Oh, and great job once again, NRaas. You might want to add a few links to some of the guides people have posted, especially some of Volsted's, that you link to in your Ranger Threads link.

Actually, I checked on TC and wasn't able to deploy the Field Base at Frontiering I. I was very put out.

Yep, on TC right now, it's frontiering II for Field Bases. It's like that as long as I can remember. TC-exclusive player...so it's been around for a long time.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Awesome work, thanks for compiling this NRaas! Here's a little feedback:

    3. What skill level is required to use each camping kit?

    • The following values are the maximum experience possible if the player is alone
    • Basic Camp: 360
    • Multiperson Camp: 640.
    • Improved Camp: 800.
    • High Quality Camp: 1000.
    • Field Base: 1100.
    • High Tech Field Base: 1250.

This looks like a typo. The question for #3 is the same as the question for #1, and here it doesn't make sense. I think you meant to write something like, "How much experience do I get out of using each camp type?" here.

Also, I think it would be helpful to add something that explains how to speed up the approach to max experience while in a camp.

    2. What is the effect of the Flash Bomb and Sonic Pulse traps?

    • Both traps perform have an area effect, meaning they affect more than one opponent

Unless I'm totally misreading this line, it looks like "perform" doesn't need to be there. I don't know how to perform a have.

Also, I seem to remember that at trapping III as a Scout, I couldn't use adhesive mesh traps that someone handed to me. I was one skill rank under what's required to make the traps, but I couldn't use those traps. There's a chance I'm remembering wrong here, but I was pretty sure that you had to be able to make a trap in order to throw it, based on my experience.

    - I support the CU and am grateful that we have a game that continues to evolve rather than stagnate. Join the positive voices!

    Whoops. I'll fix that up.

"Unless I'm totally misreading this line, it looks like "perform" doesn't need to be there."

Yep, that's bad grammar on my part.

How usefull are the traps? Im sorry if this sounds like an odd question, but for instance, I dont see the impact of dizzying a creature, they dont fall down from it, and even if you hit them with a knockdown they get right up again. I am wondering if anyone knows whether or not the stun or blind effects of our two traps make a difference?

    "How usefull are the traps?"

Well... Other posters have noted that Dizzy doesn't work very well (if at all) on creatures, whether the effect is set by a trap or a special move from some weapon profession.

As for Blind and Stun.... They do impact creatures much the same way as special moves from weapon profession do. Though the issue I have seen is they don't last as long.
