Go Master.

If you need a hand figuring out how to pull single critters without a ranged skill, read up on NS Elder hunting in the swordsman forums.

Ican DOT em with health shot, then go to peace mode, retreat to a safe distance and wait for them to aggro me, which keeps me from pulling a whole lair at once.

You're TKM - why would you care if you aggro a whole lair at once lol?

TKM/Ranger

hehe, well basically, I hate being on my back for twenty minutes while fighting three Giant Kimogilas who Dizzy and knockdown constantly. If I am only dealing with one at a time I can mop the floor with them pretty quickly and get the harvest. With two or three on me at once I may spend more time on my back than doing damage and a corpse may dissapear before I can harvest. It sucks that you cannot harvest when in combat.

When it comes to being master ranger vs (a template of it) Im not sure. I still havent mastered the profession myself (but as im 2/4/4/3 itl be soon) When I started this game I envisioned myself lying on top of a hill shooting a creatures my my pets when in and mauled em. Master Ranger/Master Rifle 0/0/0/3 CH works well for me.

You may argue that CH is worthless at my level but I do it more for the style of it (The fact that I pvp in Stormtrooper Armor shows just how much style is important to me) Besides I can get 4k Ham pets with better kenetic resists than I can with droids right now (and I can swap em out when they get damaged) It works pretty well for me.

OR, you could Master Ranger, get 1 mil cr, and buy a good/semi good DOT gun. use that to draw them then.

Dude, your a genious!

I am definately going master now, I just need to get that camping exp back. I guess dropping 3 boxes of camping 6 months ago was a bad idea. I am currently 4/1/4/4, so hopefully in not to long I will be master. I dropped the smuggler and picked up CH so I could have a decent mount, but I didn't know I couldn;'t train them. So now I have ayoung Dewback that is useless.

Don't forget DOTs do not work if you aren't certed for the weapon. That trick found it self on the buisness end of the Nerf Bat.

Faction troops are droping CDEFs with crapy dots for me like they are going out of style

That would be perfect, because when my final template is done I will be MR/TKM/Marksman 0/1/0/0. All I will be able to use is a CDEF?!?!

Um you get some certs with the novice box. And I've found crap DOT Laser rilfes on the same guys, thats a 2/0/0/0 cert. You can use CDEFs with out any Marksman at all.

If your going to have a weapon just for the Dot, I'd go with the rifles. The ideal range that is a bit closer to where you want to be for single pulling. And if you drop down the that you are going to be missing a lot any way. Use /attack so you get your ranger to hit bonus too. It doesn't seen to work on specials.
