I like that take on the idea, AgonThalia.

I don't think the devs would give us standard mission terminals, because they want to encourage socialization, which means going to population centers. Something like this, though, without a payout, would make us more useful, but would not remove the need to go to cities to get paying missions.

Well, people can argue all they want asking how much "sense" it makes and such, but I think there are two reasons that something like this is a really important addition to our profession. Firstly, rangers are supposed to be good hunters (don't laugh...) and one of our skills is supposed to be the ability to locate critters (was that a snicker?), well, this is a step in the right direction. This would definitely enhance our hunting efficiency. What it does in affect is reduce the travel time to and from mission terminals, and allows us to cause spawns of anything we "qualify for" wherever we are. So you're sitting 5k from the nearest outpost on Dathomir, killing every reptilian flyer you see for avian meat, blind as a bat as to where they might be using area track, well, you just whip out your tent, select a mission for them, and cause a spawn to in effect come to you.

The second reason is simply game balance. There's got to be more reasons to have all that skill in camping. This at least gives us something.
