Thread: Mission Terminal in High Tech Field Base
NRaas wrote:"Would it be possible to add this to the Outdoorsman proposal?"The request exists in the State of the Profession under Wishlist \ Camps \ Request for High Tech Field Base:
Did it exists there before the suggestion or has it always been there?

To have a terminal whice provides Explore missions.Besides the spelling errors, this is the only thing that it says. The request was for a General Mission Terminal not an Explorer Mission Terminal. Big difference.

It has been on the wish list a long time last I saw.
Sure, and why not throw in a banking terminal, big screen holo display, some futons, keg, and a vehicle garage while we are at it.
Seriously, we have vehicles now. How hard is it to zip back into a town or outpost and get more missions?
Remember when we had to walk to missions?
*Shakes his cane* Spoiled lil hippies...AND CUT YOUR HAIR WHILE YOUR AT IT!!!!!!!!!!
Ever been to Dathomir?

It sound slike a cool idea, but rationalize it for us? What exactly makes this camp eligible for a mission terminal? I'm not shooting down the idea, but as was said, if you open that can of worms, why not add in the bank terminal too? What qualifies us rangers to have special access to the "Mission Database" through a personal uplink?
Not disagreeing with you, but most ideas have some grounding in semi-reality. Rationalize why it should happen.

Hmm, what's a Dathomir? Of course I have. But if you are there mission hunting, you really don't have to go far from the outposts anyway, as the missions are never more than 2000m away. So it's an easy trip back, on foot or bike. While mission terminals in a camp would let you go deeper into the wilds to hunt missions, why bother?
I stay far away from the outposts after my inital arrival. I guess I just don't go to adventure planets purely for high paying missions. I might take one or two on the way to the wilds, but other than that, I am on my own, hunting what I find, or tracking down specific creatures.
The idea is a good one for a matter of convience for mission takers. But as an overall view, I don't see this being nessessary for our profession.

however, maybe we can tie this idea in with the /track idea that we have been tossing around. We all know that the HTFB has a super cool dish in it. Why not make it useful? Imagine this.
/track is not an ability that we can do by ourselves, however, with the advanced scanning equipment that is on the HTFB, we open up the radial menu and a list of creatures native to the planet pops up
we select the creature that we want and the dish finds (spawns a lair) them within a 500m trackable radius. We then use /ar and find out which direction to go. This feature takes a portion of our mind to use, as does image design or powerboost.
advantages:
1) we get the /track command that we want
2) we can sustain ourselves for days at a time
3) no more wandering to find valuable resources
4) much more valuable in group hunts
5) spawn would be a non-mission type meaning more animals and more harvesting.
disadvantages
1) resource expensive
2) it may be a pain to pop a tent every time you want a lair
3) no cash payout for the spawns (after all, the tent isnt linked to the ingame economy)
thats all i can think of for now
