I never charge for training and I never will.

I will add one thing. I do not train members of an opposing faction.

i havent been asked in a long time to train someone, but theres so few rangers on lowca that i paid for almost all of mine at an npc, and learned where all of them were

ive never charged, but i tip, and ive recieved tips equal to the npc rates on some occasions.

i have traveled from endor to tatooine for training, and ive flown to a planet to train someone to meetup faster(they had to run to a port, i was at one and a shuttle was coming) and didnt recieve a tip for it(i didnt expect one anyway, and it didnt bother me that i was out the cost of the extra hop)

I've never asked for any payment. However there have been times where I turned off the search option for my character.

I payedthe NPC trainer for every one of my Ranger skills. There were only 2 or 3 Rangers on Eclipse higher then me at the time and I hated the hassle of bugging them for training so I just payed through my nose for it. The first month after I got Master I must've trained people for 10k apprentice XP total. 3 days ago I dropped Master Ranger and turned off the search option for me.

I don't need the XP and there's plenty of others who have lots of problems getting that AXP. Through all that time I think I recieved 5 tips total. What I don't get is people are willing to hop on 3 shuttles, run for 30 minutes to get training in 1 skill. Why not just pay the 6k-9k to the NPC if you're spending that much time on reaching me.

Well, Gronchar, if charging known Imps for training makes me a cheap ass greedy scumbag, then I guess I'm a cheap ass greedy scumbag who paid for 14/16 Ranger boxes at an NPC, that trains Rebels and neutrals for free,ALWAYS tips for any training she gets from players, and never accepts tips.

Holy rush to judgement, Chewie....

After I decided to go for Ranger I started doing serches for other Rangers whenever I logged on or traveled to a different planet. When I found one I would add him/her to my friends list. When I need training I go down the list and ask people if they need AXP. If they do, I travel to where they are and they train me. I've never been asked to pay, though I often tip. This has the side benefit of making me feel part ofthe community every time I see "lunar is online" or "huntress is online." Hehe, or maybe I'm just a stalker *wink*

I never charge, but will accept tips (hey it's kinda of helping me pay back my student loan that I had to take to pay for 90% of my training from the npc trainer). I will set up a camp if they are on the way often, but do expect them to find me.

"well then apprentice, if you deem yourself ready for your next stage of training as a ranger... travel to this location, prove your skills by avoiding the many horrible deaths awaiting you along the way. Assuming you make it here, I will enlighten you a bit more on our lore and skills."

works for me

I do not charge for my training even though I invested somewhere in the neighborhood of 50K credits to attain mine. There doesn't seem to be too many Upper Level Rangers in the Kettemore Galaxy. I was forced to pay for the majority of my training, however I'm not taking that issue out on other players. Also, I typically stay to Dantooine anymore so I don't see too many Rangers out and about anyhow.

I wasn't going to reply to this post untill i saw this idiot post this.

So let me get this right, I trained all the skills on my own, payed is excess over 75k to master (maybe more) ran hundreds ofcountless missions just to make this money to be able to train in the Ranger skills i needed, Which btw took me several weeks to do, So i had to wait to get these skills.

Now, some lowly slug of a person sends me a tell asking me if ican train them in a 5k to 9k credit skill because they don't want to run countless missions to earn creditsor are to cheep to spend the credits they have because they know a free meal ticket is out there somewhere.........You must be one of those lowly slugs and you are a fool.

Lastly, I have NEVER charge a person who needed or wanted training in anything. But if a person asked for some credits in return for training me, i would havenever thought anyless of that person if they did, knowing what i have paid myself in training these skills. It's not like alot of Rangers are swimming in credits.

So do me a favor Mr. high and mighty, sometime during the day, please have a stroke which will effect your ability to play this game anymore, andso that you won't have to thumb your nose at anyone again.

I dont charge when i train people, even if they are not rangers. If i get a tip well thats fine, but its nothing i will be waiting for. Remember when i first became a ranger and had 3 skills to train i asked the only ranger i found. And he asked for 2k per skill. So i went to the npc trainer and payed him instead, cause i dont want to pay people for training, since i would not take credits for training people.

Its enough crafters charge us so much cash on weapons etc.

I have never charged for any kind of training. It is hard to find Rangers, and I have paid the trainer twice so far. If I'm lucky enough to find a ranger that can train me, I will tip them a few hundred, just because I know they might have had to pay for it. But that's the only profession I tip for training.
