(laughing) I hope AT-STs stay on the list too. It would be embarrasing to be able to track a bird flyingacross water, but not be able to notice the craters left by a 20 ft chicken walker going by.

"my hard drive crapped the bed last night. I gotta go buy a new one tonight before I can get online again"

- Aye, one of my RAIDs failed last week... Just so happens to be the one I have Star Wars Galaxies installed on.

- I took apart one of my other machines to scavenge a new disk, but I still haven't made it out to purchase a replacement.

- I really should schedule some "outdoors" time soon.

- Whoops too late, its snowing outside... Guess I'm "stuck" inside for the rest of the year.

The return of harvesting is sweet. I no longer feel like I'm wasting time running around shooting things.

I like the speed increase in areatrack, though frankly I don't like the new emote. I'd rather the toon squat and start studying the ground for tracks. But that's just me.

Finding the 50 closest is a nice change, but I'd still rather the list not cap. Finding everything within 500m is kinda week if it's capped to only the 50 nearest beings. Option: Give us a list of individual creature types that are within 500m, for e

Argh!

Okay, continuing what I was writing before the stupid thing submitted itself...

Instead of truncating, give us a list of creature types that are within 500m, for example...

  • bantha

  • dewback

  • rat

  • scyk

  • squill

  • worrt

Then allow us to expand, to see the specific creatures we may be looking for...

  • bantha

  • dewback

    • dewback (18m N)

    • dewback (baby) 23m N)

    • grizzled dewback (345m SW)

    • grizzled dewback (342m SW)

    • grizzled dewback (351m SW)

    • mountain dewback (212m E)

    • mountain dewback (223m E)

  • rat

  • scyk

  • squill

  • worrt

when they give us /track we will be able to find a specific creature. /areatrack was meant to be a general broad list.

- Oh, I like that. Though that is a bit of work for the Client Interface gents.

It's no more work than the expansion already available in the planetary map. The support for it is there, it's just a matter of populating it and adopting it for another use.

i really like the changes... they were great for tracking down gurreck on endor this morning.

I was great until someone's Marek(sp?) mission decided to appear 4m from me. The Marek Death Head had my face for lunch. (Some reason is just popped in beside me.. assumed a mission.. evil marek)

I understand, but I also may not know what life forms are present on a world I haven't yet visited (I've only visited a few of them, so fari). Providing a list of creature types within 500m would at least give the Novice a list of creatures in the region, rather than requiring them to know to look for a specific creature type.

I think itwould also simplifly the search for people...

  • Hermit

  • Jawa

  • Nomad

  • Settler

    • a settler (412m SW)

    • a settler (418m SW)

    • an evil settler (218m E)

    • an evil settler (223m E)

  • Spice Fiend

  • Tusken

"It's no more work than the expansion already available in the planetary map."

- Right...

- I've some window code so embedded into a particular module that it took days to pull it out and use it somewhere else.

- They do have the Tree structure I agree, whether its possible to put it in a new window is another question entirely.

When I make a statement like that, I assume proper design and implementation such that the classes comprising the user interface are easy to extend or subclass. I realize I shouldn't make an assumption like this, given their track record has been spotty, but still...

The tree is a great idea! It would certainly resolve the sorting issue for me.
