I'd consider myself more of an explorer than a hunter too. I've gone camping many times and fishing is alright, but really I just enjoy wandering about the woods. The northern part of Minnesota is beautiful, woods and lakes everywhere. My dad and I used to go camping up there in the summer.
I've never really hunted before and don't really plan on it. I'm a decent shot with a bow though, (Dad used to bow hunt and has tried to teach me) and I would consider bow hunting. Seems a little more sportsmen like to me.

I've done quite a bit of all of it- I camp whenever I'm able to, I go hiking a ton (loving living in the pacific northwest), I love fishing....hunting not so much anymore. My RL profession is meatcutter in my family's shop, so every hunting season we process (no exaggeration here) upwards of 500 deer, 250 elk, plus assorted bear, cougar, caribou, moose, antelope, upland birds, waterfowl, fish, the works.I also work part-time on our mobile slaughter truck, soa good portion of my standard work week includes killing farm livestock.
Since I've been doing the meatcutting, I just haven't had any desire to hunt any more. I still spend quite a bit of time target shooting, just to improve my accuracy (spot-on with a rifle. I couldn't hit water with a pistol if I threw it out of a boat:smileysad

I myself have not been out hunting, but I have done a bit of fishing and campingmyself. I might be doing more fishing in game if I could snag some decent sized fish though... or at least cast my line a bit further out.

ok. I've read this thread and after reflecting back on life growing up in a rural area where we hunt and fish and farm and such I'm left with these two questions.
What on earth is a free range chicken egg?
and
If it comes from a free range chicken, how do they collect them? Do they have one of those carts like at the country club that cruises around and scoops up golf balls?

Yes I hunt, and I also love to fish (only salt water fishing though, fresh isnt any fun...fish are too little, no challenge), and camping too. Hell I can keep myself entertained for hours if you just give me some woodlands to wander through, even without guns and such Problem is I have only been able to hunt a few times, my dad is getting on years and while he was a big hunter while he was younger he never hunted deer much, and now he doesnt want to hunt much at all (I'm only 17). Also, the other big problem is that in Texas the rifle hunting season for deers was plenty long, but in Michigan (I hate this place) the rifle season for white tail deer is only 2 weeks. So I wont be able to hunt much anymore until I get out of Michigan (to lazy to get into archery).

well lets just put it this way, all this talk about hunting(esecialy whitetail) is getting me mighty hungery. i was born and raised in the Adirondacks so the hunting, fishing,camping stuff just comes natural i guess. Someone mentioned that they were part Blackfoot I also am part Blackfoot, it might be cool if we could get ppl that are part or full Native American to go on a group hunt sometime. do it like they did for the ranger meet and pick a server to create a char. on.

As a former RL Ranger (US Army) I grew up in the city outside DC. I never hunted but camped and fished all the time. I love the woods but after hunting people ,animals just dont do it for me though I do like going with hunting parties and watching.

I've always wanted to hunt(Venision is good) but never have. I fish regularly though. Especially when I'm hungry. I was in army infantry for 2 years so I guess that makes me rifleman.
