Im taking up ranger, at least 0040, but ive never been one before and want to know if area track really works as good as people think

How exactly does it work? whats the range on it at that level (xx4x ranger), how accurately can it track creatures/players, how long does it take?

just wondering cuz im hoping it'll be useful for tracking krayts, and maybe players every once in a while

/areatrack has, as its description says, a 500m radius range, irrelevant of tracking level 1-4, or even ranger mastery.

All these 4boxes do is increase the information you get to work with, which again it says in the description.

Now "tracking" is actually not really the proper description for /areatrack. It simply functions as a set of really good binoculars, and you cannot force a spawn, only see alreadyspawned creatures outside of the players immediatevisual range. Sure, it's practical for spotting krayts, but to track it.. that is an exaggeration.

/areatrack is however very practical for getting a feel of your surroundings in pvp, since up to this date there is no way of hiding from it.

People tend to be pretty dumb on the subject of /areatrack, so no.. it's not even nearly as good as people "think".

Yeah yeah.. I'm bitter.. Need me brandy..
