Thread: CU: Hunting Viability
A level 55 Nightsister took me about 5 minutes to kill. I never really took any damage but I couldn't dish it out either.
A level 81 Giant Baz Nitch incapped me in about 5 hits. I barely took any of it's health down (and what I did get down was largely due to the phenacine dart I opened with).
I plan to try a pure combat profession but I couldn't get my second character off of the newbie station and then the server went loading for a while.

Hunting Viability:
I'm really scared about what's going to happen to creature harvesting post CU... and I don't think I'm half as scared as crafters should be.
Current: 8 people soloing 8 creatures, 8 sets of armor decay, 8 sets of food used.
New: 8 people group up to fight 2 or 3 creatures. TKM tank with no armor, 2 tanks with armor. 5 people don't need dodge/damage mitigation food. Rifleman's can leave armor off so no need for brandy.Buffs won't be standard anymore except for high end content and PvP. Etc, etc, etc. Overall, less food used, less armor decay equals lower demands for replacements/restocking.
Don't apply the current consumption rates to the new system. It'll balance out over time. If creature resource cpu goes high, more hunters will come, if it goes low, people will quit hunting.
Zaene -- Master Ranger/Rifleman
Me -- master rifles/carbineer with only novice scout
Numbers are solo amounts (With group amounts in parenthesis)
Level 26 Blurrg Hunters
Master Ranger: 111 units meat (138 units with +20% group bonus)
Novice Scout: 45 units meat (74 units with +40% group bonus)
Level 50 Roba Boars
Master Ranger: 290 units meat (362 units with +20% group bonus)
Novice Scout: 116 units meat (193 units with +40% group bonus)
Thought I'd include the group bonus numbers I got in this situation, as well. (If I had also been a master ranger, we would have harvested just over 400 units from level 50 roba boars with a 40% bonus)
