Thread: CU: Hunting Viability
They don't seem to have included Gorgs in the new n00b creatures. I remember being at Rifles II where I am now and taking an Gorg explorer misson in live. I could whoop them fairly well. They con purple to me atm. But I can take Nunas (orange).
The creatures that have been adjusted seem to be about right (they all have strange names). The low harvests where getting me down, but I pulled up a new scout in Live and its about the same. Leveling weapons is faster in live but they seem to know that is a problem in testing.
Thank god for more cons the old system was a joke.

Um you don't, ya gots to figure it out on your own. Purple is the highest (saw a Cl 275 Krayt with it), next Red, Orange is below that, then Yellow, then white, there is Dark blue and Light blue also. I'm less sure about the bottom of the system cuase I'm still a wimp on TC. I think there is a green in there also.

Thanks. I was wondering where purple and orange fit in. Yes, there is a green. Tat Mynocks were green.

The point i was trying to make to them was that nunas should be trash, not cripple a group of players. One stamp and they are dead. Obviously make them a challenge but not assownage to noob level 1 players hehe.
I am not sure why they didn't make the existing noob creatures be the rebalanced noob creatures. That would have been easier to code than new creatures, and would have smoothed the transition.

Yup, but like 4/10ths of the male population I have dodgy colour vision. 8)
On the screen the differences between shades of blue, blue grey and purples is all but indistinguishable. Red and green? You mean they are seperate colours???
aaaaaaargh
Hunting Viability:
I'm really scared about what's going to happen to creature harvesting post CU... and I don't think I'm half as scared as crafters should be. Now, this will be much easier to test once we get the blue frogs in and can play with the elite professions, but from what I've seen on TC, there is a BIG risk that:
- Many rangers and scouts leave the profession until at least we get a "revamp" or some tweaks
- Those that do stay with the prof are going to be harvesting far less (harvest per hour).
these two factors combined could really be detrimental to creature harvests and will cripple the entire community. This HAS to be addressed and fixed/avoided before things go live. Otherwise you'll have 1 AS on your server who saved lots of wooly and is now the only one who can make armor. Or 1 BE who happens to have lots of meat and can make the BSN for chefs, leaving the chefs with an even more castrated supply of BE tissues for the foods that are only going to climb in importance post CU.

I, for one, am soooo mean, I'd let it go by.
If it is not fixed by SOE/Devs even after the hard Pushing JB and Owen do and Rangers get shafted (as it seems now), I will go on strike and hope many others will follow.
Let the ECONOMY go cripple. I don't think the scout nor the ranger community is happy with these changes as they are now, so if nothing is going to change let it backfire on everything else... Let everyone complain about too few resources, too expensive stuff and so on.
Honestly, I don't think it will ever go there. There will allways be scouts and combat professions running around doing the harvesting, so frankly I don't think it's even possible to cripple the economy.
- possibility for lower health
- corresponding with health, we would have a lower creature level which would make us take more damage and do less damage
- A-mesh traps display a message indicating success but have no effect. No word on whether this applies to all traps, as this is almos impossible to test.
- everyone can see creature level of creatures, regardless of creature knowledge skills, making that whole line less usefull for us
- others getting our skills: riflemen/jedi get invisibility, commandoes get AoE state attacks, lots of ranged professions get snare/root and other states similar to what traps produce
anything else you guys are seeing?

Anything else?? Please god, no! Isnt that enough!
Seriously though, what worries me is the removal of most of our abilities and any ideas we have had for revamps to other professions. For quite a while ive been worried about ranger being fixed properly, now Im much more worried about it surviving in any form.
You know what they say, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and, can kill a ranger fast then we are all ducked!
