But thinking logically, we know that protests and petitions are ignored by the developers. All they do is give a forum a bad reputation. So there's no point to them. They hurt us all. Forgive me if I'm not exactly pleasant to somebody trying to incite protest which will lead nowhere and only result in more bad attitudes and more hate. Forgive me if I try to stop this negativity that's overflowing. I'm sorry that I was slightly rude...but this isn't the kind of idea that's worthy of the mature and well-behaved people of this forum. We've let ourselves slip too far into acting childish, and you're trying to defend it as "offering a differnt view". That's bunk. I agree with the sentiment of the original poster. We've been abused and I'm not happy about it. But I don't shoot myself in the foot when I get unhappy, and I'm not about to let anyone else shoot me in the foot either.
This isn't about "differing viewpoints", it's about understanding that certain behaviors only hurt the communities, and accomplish nothing else.
Well said as usual. To be clear though, I was not defending the idea of a petition. I was defending the original poster. No one seemed to want and come out and say politely "But thinking logically, we know that protests and petitions are ignored by the developers".
As I stated this is a great forum, but we need to be careful how we treat those who aren't as familiar with how we operate the majority of the time in this forum.
Too right. I suppose that often vigilance to defend the honor of this forum can go too far and can itself impune the honor of the people here.
to the original poster-- I agree with your sentiments, and I know how you feel. It's hard to do, but patience is really the only thing we can cling to. Protests, petitions, etc, just don't work. So we must do what we do best- provide ideas, promote discussion and pray that the devs do the right thing sometime soon.

I'm happy to be a ranger and find our class to be outstanding.

Like we are getting anywhere with the current method? Get reamed quietly if you like but Im not.What sucks is bending over and taking it, hopingwe wontget usedagain..thats what we got going on here.
Sometimes you have to force their hand to get the job done, otherwise they think its ok to sit there and ignore us. If we remain passive little Boy Scouts, SOE will continue to ignore us because to them us being quiet makes us seem content to them.
We are NOT content, and I will not pretend to be content, kowtowing to SOE like some kind of coolie
Id rather fight then lose, than lose without a fight.

So, you can't come up wtih any better way to get their attention than by signing a protest? Are we to sit here quietly and take it? No way. Will a petition work? No way. There are other ways, and some of are certainly pulling our weight. Others of us are signing useless petitions.

This protest thread is as affective as any otehr approach taken to date.
Iaw another waste of time and bandwidth.

Until Scouts and Rangers are deemed within the scope of this game we will continue to be regulated to the trash heap.
We can protest, we can sit passively, we can stand on out heads. But until a design team memeber bring up a high priority reason for changing\fixing scouts and rangers.
Well we can count on being harvestors in this game and thats all.
So the sooner people realise they are mobile harvestors the better off they will be. We are not Scouts or Rangers we are harvestors providing crafters organic resources. Nothing more nothing less.

If every Ranger in every Galaxy of SWG dropped the profession there would be no real negative effect on the game. That is the number one problem we face in my opinion. There are simply enough players with the Scout profession and a combat class that can meet the overall supply needs of every galaxy if need be. While me may have the most significant harvesting bonuses there is nothing about our profession that would be gamebreaking if we were deleted and that is the biggest problem we face as a "Support Profession".

Not going to whine like some. Signing this is better than more "oh poor me" talk. Do something. This seems to be a good way to get noticed. If you don't want to, fine don't.

Yes there are problems with Ranger. They've been there since day 1. Most notably that in the Star Wars Universe we even have a Ranger profession. If it was meant to invoke the Antarian Rangers from the books it didnt work. We have been given a thousand promises. And all this will do is cause a locked thread and more ill will towards us all.

Like so many have said already, the devs dont read protests, dont care about protests and they acomplish as much as sitting around watching doing nothing.
Ive heard a lot of people over the months say its worked for Jedis. Fact is it hasnt. The reason why the jedi get sorted is not because their moaning, but the jedi heavy focus groups the devs listen to and the dollar signs in the suit's eyes.
Its hard to have any external impact on a company so intent on doing things their way but all we can do is keep doing what we have always done. Lay down facts and unarguable points when and where they are needed.
We will get through this
