Me? I started out, cracked the manual (yah, I know...), read up on Scout and Ranger, and was like... "Dude, that's so where I want to be". Then I found these forums, and fell in love with the community and lifestyle and have never looked back. Partly due to being too stubborn to give up the title, partly due to the eternal optimist in my like Calc and Phen and others, I keep thinking "oh man... imagine how awesome it'll be once we DO get the revamp, and we <hopefully> get all those mods and new skills and... and... and...".

Plus I love to hunt and explore in general. I try and coordinate my armor and my mounts to the planet I'm on. I keep "loot" that others probably delete as worthless becuase I found it in an obscure location on Endor, or managed to make it away from those NPCs on Yavin 4 intact only by using my knowledge of the land to escape, etc.

I like to explore, so Ranger suits me well. (Insert rant about stupid walls on Kashyyk here)

Well... don't know. After launch it just - happened. And now I can't drop it. I tried several times, but I just can't do it. I didn't even try something else during respec (at least on my main, changed some things on my alts). Ranger was just the way I liked to play - that changed a lot with the CU but I still can't drop it. I guess I'm just to stubborn...

Left for dead on Tattoine dunes and survived with only a CDEF...

The desert has become my home. Typically I'm on Lok, Tattoine or the great northern desert of Endor.

I read about it in the manual back on launch day and it felt like what I wanted to be. It took a long time to do, but I think I did it naturally because there's no need to rush into mastering it. I enjoy the RP element in a slighted sense because I can be partially RP when the profession is this rare. It's hard not to be really. I've always loved the Rangers I've met, so they've kept me going. I always stopped at a camp outside Coronet to help those that needed the survival xp when it was the only way. I just enjoy being alone at times, or exploring, but I also appreciate being able to lead a group in a hunt properly and a ranger feels like a natural leader in the wilderness.

Personally the other professions just didn't feel right. I don't know what it is about Rangering, but it got me hooked and after nearly a year or more away from the game I still miss it. I still see Han in Episode 5 and think "He's going to pitch a tent while Luke is getting warm, he's part Ranger" and wish I could be back in the game. I'm luckily getting into it again as of late and will be rangering my ass around the new worlds the best I can. There's just something about being the master hunter, tracker, survivalist that makes a man feel right with the world.

One word...ROLEPLAYER.

I've always loved Ranger, but with my Scylla character I do it. While it gives me a big disadvantage in combat, it sets me apart among the other Rangers. I can find my friends scattered throughout a city. I can set up camps for entertainers and doctors to do their thing, or just to hang out in the wilderness. I can make traps that people still ask me "What kind of nade are you using?" It is a fun profession. Also, it is good work. I made my first million with Ranger hunting hides and meat much much faster than doing missions with my combateer or even BH missions before jedi came.

I love the fact that there aren't many of us! In addition, the use of traps and tactics make us very capable against creatures. Yes I know that double combat masters might be able to kill more creatures per hour but I still think we stack up well and actually provide benefits to a group. Can any one say high tech field base?

I got into it because of all the other professions this one is the best to Role-play. Whether in a group or solo it is hard not to get into the role-play of the profession. The challange of the hunt and hoping that your traps work or break Jessie Owens running record.

Running along the trails of Endor and Yavin in the dark and only being CL22 all the creatures are instant death if they break through my mask. The sounds through the headset and not seeing the creature till your almost on top of it. Taking point in a group to scout out the area ahead so that you can relay the information back to the tanks that you found a Rebel Network base that needs to be eliminated.

The other professions have the ability to role-play but not as well as the Ranger. Most if not all the things we hunt are creatures to mount thier heads on our trophy wall.

Whenever fanning the flames of conquest, Remember that you to can be burned.

Rangers lead the way.

A Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air. I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.

I'm a Ranger? Still?

Stuffed if I know why, lol.

And no, I don't mean that in a prof knocking way, but in a "well, I used to be a Ranger for the huntin and shootin and fishin" but now I just AM.

I think I signed up for the free beer and the hat.

That and all the other profession boards scare me... their full of weirdoes.
