Well yeah sorry. I apoligize to the TC community for that comment. You are correct in that I was wrong. I can understand your frustration. I will go hide back in my corner now.

Excellent. I can't wait to finish up trapping. I'm still kicking myself for not taking the trapping line with my respec token. At least I will have plenty of time to become familiar with all of the traps.

You wont see a Ranger weapon for awhile if ever. We are not classified as a combat profession. So we dont really earn one. Its been the topic of a long long debate here. As well as being diffucult to find a weapon that wouldnt favor ranged or melee. Since we have melee rangers and ranged rangers as well. Which removes the toy we really want which is a bow and arrow.

The future of ranger hopefully still lies in our old outdated Outdoorsman 2.0 thread.

"Phec timer pops at 30 secs right? I would expect Ad Mesh to do the same so a root and snare at 30 each. The devastating snare was in reference to how slow the creatures used to run whilst snared or if you only lob one trap and let the timer run out, know what i mean? They are ten times slow than what my kneecap slows."

Now, as awesome as that would be, why oh why would the root (complete stoppage...) last as long as the snare.. (only slowing...) It would have to be at least HALF as long as the snare to be considered balanced.. I sure hope not though, because our root would suck compared to most of the other ones

I thought we were classified as a combatprofession hence the fact that our CL goes up with Ranger?

So are doctors, scouts and several other professions. We got this classification so we could get the same HAM as everyone else. It would mean adding weapons in for the other classes as well.

But thats not the issue actually. We have been going over this for about two years, for those who are new you wouldnt havent known that of course, but the problem is that we are a melee AND ranged profession. One weapon would dictate leaving the other one out of the equation. WHich is where the issue comes in.

P-Dart timer is 20 seconds. I don't know what this 30 seconds is about.

Also, no it wasn't. It wasn't "fixed."

It no longer matters whether we are a ranged ranger or melee ranger with regards to adding a ranger specific weapon. A weapon now can simply have a CL rating attached to it. Therefore a Bow could have a CL54 rating for example and any Ranger with a combat class could use it. Additionally, a special could be built into the weapon in much the same way that specials are built into commando weapons. Specials for use with a Ranger weapon, in this example the bow, could be built into the survival tree to ensure that both melee and ranged combat class rangers have an equal footing with regards to the ranger weapon.

I would still rather see Ranger specials that can be used in any weapon, not just a bow. The bow is kind of redundant to my mind.

Amen. When I think of rangers in SWG, I think more of Simon Kenton than Aragorn. If I could have one weapon from the Star Wars films as a ranger weapon, it would be Zam Wessel's rifle from Episode II. Runners up would include Luke's rifle in the original film, or a better version of the Tusken rifle. All of them echo the flintlock Pennsylvania and Kentucky long rifles used by the frontiersmen of Kenton's era.

EDIT: It just occured to me that these wouldn't be fair to rangers that aren't riflemen. So instead maybe the devs could put in specials than can be used with any weapon like Paks said, and then add Zam's rifle with a CL 54 cert.

Head to Kashyyyk. Gain access to the Etyyy Hunting Grounds. Run missions for the Rodian Hunters.

Once you complete Sordaan's final wager you will receive the Fallen-Hyper Rifle. This rifle is Zam Wessel's rifle from Episode II.

That rifle requires CL54, and looks totally bad-a$$ when laying prone in thick grass picking off targets from 65m away.

Oooh. I've seen people talking about the Fallann rifle in the rifleman forum. Nobody ever mentioned it was Zam's.

Great, now I have to buy the expansion.
