Thread: Conceal kits too Specalized
Basically another way to keep you busy doing something other than real "star-warsy " stuff.
Time sinks implemented like smoke and mirrors to try and veil the fact there is no real content.
Why should a master ranger have to take up Artisan to make Ranger oriented items?
I should be able to get all I need based on the inherent skills of my trade, period.
More manipulative work by the Dev's to keep me dependant on the crafters.
I hate that.
I'm being manipulated in a free form game, with a free form class.
Tookrak, the only thing I have a problem with is the flora parts. I don't mind so much that I need specific hides or meat. It's a pain, and it does take longer then 10 min. I am beginning Ranger, and consider myself a pretty good hunter. I know what animals on Tatooine give reptillian meat, and wooley hide. It took me about an hour to get the hides and meat I need. I only had base area track, and so it didnt really help me much. I was just having a hard time finding the animals I needed.
But the flora is rediculous. We have to get resources from artisans for traps and camps. OK fine. But for a one time use camo kit, that can be cancelled in minutes, the flora is to much. I have medical forage, and in 2 hours I found 2 of 15 needed wild oats. Yea thats conceavable. I understand the whole dependant on other professions, but camo kit i something totally for the being out the wild, the lone ranger collecting the berries and things he needs. To have to run into town and buy some "plants" from someone? Come on, a ranger needing someone to collect plants for them? What ever.
They just need to change the flora to be stuff that the scout forage can find. Even with that, finding as many of them as we need it will take time. And not to mention, making the scout forage actually have a use. It is a pointless use right now. I have used the high level stuff I get with it now, and they dont make enough of a difference.
Personally I logged in and looked at the stuff needed to make a camo kit. I didn't have any of it in my inventoryso...... I was near Wookieesburg (on Bria), near Mos Espa. I killed a few worts on the outskirts of town, bought 2k of wild oats on bazaar, bought 150 wooly hide on bazaar, and killed some misc critters for bone. That took me about 10 minutes to gather the resources to make a lot of camo kits for Tat......is that tohard? ....granted its a starter planet, but the advanced planets are meant to be ADVANCED, ie not easy to survive (meant to incourage grouping). So go out with your buds (if you have some, if not buy them :smileyhappy
and get the resources to conceal the group!!! Good Luck and Happy Hunting

My problem with the resources needed or the camo kits is that it is too specialized. They not only require planet specific resources, but also creature specific resources. This wouldn't be a problem for me but currently on the server I am and the planet I am on all the resources that I need for the camo kit have a quality below 500 infact my hide has a quality of 35. Since according to the schematic the quality is based on the quality of the ingrediants it is almost impossible to make a decent camo kit for this planet. I would like to see it changed so that either you dont need planet specific resources(hide, bone, meat..not talking flora right now) and they keep the specific type( like avian bone/meat, and hide type) or make it so any type of resource from that planet can be used for the appropriate slot. That way we would be able to have a chance to find and use the resources that have a high enough quality to make decent camo kits.

this is true, but i do not spend my time in game trying to make money. i just like to go and survive out in the wild. i have to admit that the 1k of wheat looks like it will give me up to 60 hours or so of conceal ability, but i will not know how far the resources will stretch until i put them to real use. this may work out in the long run. i will say that i do go through the steel fairly quick though. overall i would still prefer to be able to acquire what i need for the camo kit without having to make sacrifices in skilll points for the elite profeesions so that i can cling on to novice artisan which i did not really use just to get floral material which logically i should just be able to pick up off any bush or tree in the environment. oh well, i guess it will all work for the best in the end. and for anyone that says i should get in a group to try and get these materials (group with an artisan?) i would like to say that i do not want to do that. i like to play solo and will probably never group. i am not asking for the ability to solo krayt dragons or something that should definitely require a group or for the ability to fashion a laser rifle from bones and twigs when i can go to a weaponsmith, all i ask is for the ability to use conceal as i use maskscent without any external help.
My only problem with the Camo kits is with the Specialized Floral Component and not becuase it requires Artisan to collect it, becuase I am an Artisan, but becuase there should be NO reason a ranger cannot find FLORA with the skills we already posess.
I picked up Artisan becuase I like prospecting and becuase our highend traps and bases require minerals and chemicals. That is totally understandable. No complaint there, but to require Rangers to BUY wood and flora makes no sense to me.
heres my 2 cents worth
its not a mater of just running around grabing the resorces if the resorces that you harvest stink so will your camo kits, way i see it each of the componates should be at lest 750 oq + the higher the better, i made a 70% kit and it produce 7 and they were awesome, i than made a 50% kit it had 5 they were about as usefull as t-i-ts on a bull.
so what does this mean, it means if we want to make top quilaty kits to use its going to take posibly months waiting on resorce changes to get the awesome resorces to make those awesome kits. now guess what weapon smiths armour smiths already do this why should we be any different , my only problem with this is i will have to drop my other lines to make room for the items im going to need to store to make the top kits personally its no biggy, it will mean my guild will go on them raids with top of the line camo kits making them better for it
4 items per kit times 10 planets = 40 items taking up space not too bad really
i am lucky in that my setup allows me to drop novice medic for novice artisan when i need resorces and back again
basicly its a no brainer if you have to purchase items from an artasin asuming there advaiable you are paying what 3 per big deal i would prefer to pay 3 per and go hunt 10 per resorces to sell
i liked it when the high teq camps required polymer and metal lest than i could buy thousands of each and do large runs in me factory the hide and bone requirement now is a pain imho (and haveing metals and poly mer to make em makes more sence for the higher camps lets face it what ranger camp looks like it has hides and bones anywhere in it )
and at the end of the day there still working on our class ok i agree some of these things could of been thought out a little bit better but hey lest we got something more than we had i was thinking about switching marsters but i think i will wait now and see what pans out
Naboo for example has avian bone as one of requirements.
and herb meat. Off the top of my head thats flewt's and chuba's (can't remember for sure) hardly a great risk on my part.
Now on tat I might have to hunt a bit to get enough hides/meat maybe even go out past the newbie zones. As Im not fimilar with it or its creatures.
Granted on hostile worlds it has to be quite an effort to get some meat/hide/bone but thats what groups are for. if the group wants camo then they better put forth the effort to help ya.
The crafting tool says it needs this to make a camo kit, fine go hunt thats what we do.
Thats part of being a ranger.
Rangers,
If you spot a large (way too large) bundle of wheat at the bazaar that is the right price for you, check out the person that placed it there (it should be listed) and email or /tell the person that you would like to have a much smaller portion of the bundle.
As one of those ranger-and-surveyor types, I can find a great source of [insert organic material that you want] and I will sell them in large bundles at the bazaar because people generally like to have larger than smaller bundles. However, I always have a remainder that I keep for myself. I'll take my 1437 bundle and split it into one 1k bundle for the bazaar and the 437 for myself. I am more than happy to sell part of the remainder to others... and rangers get a discount!
