what level scout are you after ?
I have hunting 2 at the moment on TC-EP3, and carbines 3 ...
I don't mind (if I get a bit of help) getting to hunting 4 and then dropping down to novice marksman for your experiments .......

The goal of this post is just to outline how to get to Master Ranger without any combat skills.

If you want to help with some Test Data there's a thread I titled "CU Testers: Some help please"

Each time you level in scout or in CL just head over there and dump a quick post concerning your findings when killing a white con.

Thanks for the help!

Check Tuesday's tip. If you missed my post about it.

"Scout Experience

Scout experience is now based on the conning level of the NPC or creature, so while working on gaining scout experience, lower level cons will provide you with less scout XP than higher level cons."

I know how I feel, how is everyone else seeing this?

That depends on what they mean by it. If they mean:
The scout xp depends only on your combat level.
then I don't like it. If they mean:
Scout xp depends on the relative difference between your level and the creature level, modified on your scout level.
then I think it might be ok. The second one would mean that harvesting level 1 white cons with Novice Scout would give the same xp as harvesting level 60 white cons with Novice Scout but harvesting level 1 white cons with Master Ranger would give more xp than harvesting level 60 white cons with Novice Scout. This would make some sense (from a gameplay point of view) and it would prevent players from grinding up Scout too quickly by joining in a big group to kill high level creatures to maximize xp.

Con level scales only with Comabt Level. Scout has jack to do with your CL. So having some amount of Scout or not has nothing to do with Scout XP.

Scout XP being based on harvest amount as it is in live, has its problems. The group bonus being the one I see now. I've helped a few people plow through Scout a bit faster than they should just by grouping with them as a Master Ranger. Then again what they learned from me in that time was huge compared to what they would have learned solo. /shrug

If Scout XP was a matter of only of CL I wouldn't be mad. I.E a Cl 12 creature giving the same xp all the time.

this need an edit/delete/dereference/lock/??? from the curb test links since we won the debate and now we do get CL with scout/ranger skills?

I'm using a Berzerker rifle and LD-1 as MR/MCH/1440 Medic, CL of 80. Fighting level 31 bordoks one on one on endor with no pets out, fighting in my newb camos and unbuffed, therefore doing "base" damage at "base" speed with the rifles and no armor protection... no using traps, no running, no healing... just let it smack me at melee range while I try and hit the bordok with the big arse rifle. Getting hit for 60pts of damage and doing 330pts, taking a couple of minutes to kill it, but not really ever in danger of being more than a few points below my maximum health.

Fight 2 bolle bol stompers (level 21)... again, no tactics, no armor, no buffs, no traps, and 2 of them on me at once (this time gimped by 100 wounds from an earlier... ehem... problem)... health got down to about 1200 and I was immediately attacking the third bolle bol stomper. Doing 411 damage on the stomper and getting hit for 62 (much more often than I was shooting) but my health was regenerating faster than it was going down.

These are some of the same creatures I used to end-up using every last bit of health from my pets before... so in this sense, these are much much easier than they once were... 68 units of hide (medium) and 570 scout xp
