Indeed, sadly my prey are usually clever enough to /anon before they come to attack my city.

/anon is probably enough information to tell you that something is up. If you track someone who is /anon then you are probably best off getting ready for an attack. And if you see several people grouped together (especially if they are /anon) then you are very likely going to be attacked soon.
