Thread: Ranger correspondent feedback
You know guys I'm not the person to complain much if something doesn't work after a period of time I just walk away and save my time which saves me money until issue's are resolved. Last night while playing I found myself trap on naboo unable to use any shuttle ports or spaceport. The screen shell doesn't pop open to allow me to choose a ticket. I did the reboot/scan no avail. Anyway nothing new under the sun. I'm finding myself getting bored with scout to ranger knowing I'll just continue to do the same thing kill creatures in that same dynamic way how fun.
With Nrass reply I feel like a kid standing on the corner holding my $1.00 waiting for the ice cream trunk in the winter time or that uncle who makes promises to take you fishing, calls and says "Get ready have your poll and hook on my way" five hours later he's still at the bar slobbering about the brat kid inthe family who bugs him about fishing. $79.00 for a really nice black box with a cool art book, game guide binder and other items fact is I enjoy the art book more then the game when things break and your stuck until a CSR helps or help. I know now that the outdoorsman guide is nothing more then bait and switch. I say that from your reply, Nrass. If you had been more open and honest to understand we paid a price and continue to pay a cost for this enjoyment we aren't getting in this class I wouldn't feel this way. ![]()
I enjoy solo playing with knowing other players are among me. I love the idea what Ranger's has to offer in this game. I have been waiting since the announcement of changes to come knowing my avater will becomeawesome among the best. Nrass, I assume your a young man from that short reply and since you replied I expected adult answer not that 23 year old answer a person gives when they don't have the answer. It would have been better if you typed nothing!
Well I guess will continue to wait for uncle.

Nrass,
After taking a hard look at the boards it seems your not on payroll. With all your post I'm thinking your on Dev team or have that connection if your not sorry for the heat. Whew Who are you? ![]()
Awww...you should have said...."Who am I?...I'm BATMAN"...
I was waiting for that...lol
BTW...as no one has really stood against those weak comments a few messages above about NRAAS's responses...I will.
NRAAS I am sure that you really consider the comments about your short replys and the rest as really an insult....as I am sure you are above it...but I am offended for you.
Anyone who knows NRAAS knows that he answers most posts thrown his way...too many to be counted. If he wrote a paragraph for every response he better be on the payroll as he would not have any other time for any kind of RL work.
NRAAS, your merit stand in your finest work, The Outdoorsman. While others may pick at it...you can be proud to know you put together a rich logistic for the future of the Ranger class. In any leadership position, sometimes those that follow us do not always understand or like the way we work for them...but they don't always have to. Leadershave to lead and sometimes go against some for the greater good.
Your efforts are not lost on us....

Hi Fellow Rangers!
I love your ideas that you covered ChakkaDiva. Seems you put some good thought into it and sounds very plausable, especially about the camps. In what you have already said I have some additional ideas for the Ranger class, (note: if covered already, at least it's getting a reemphasis!):
Wayfaring: I agree we should have some "visual" effectsimilar to whata US Army sniper has for camoflage. Maybe to balance things out we can only camoflage "within" a camp and it takes a certain amount of time to apply the camo. But once camoflaged, we become the Ninja! just kidding. But we should all be but invisible to PvP and especially NPC's once a camoflage kit is applied.Maybe the visual that other players see could be similar to a cloakingeffectlike what the"Predator alien" had in themovie Predator. Of course taking into account the success being gased upon how far up the camoflaging tree you actually are!
Frontiering: We shoudl be able to set up traps around the camp and have Entertainers do their thing to heal BF. Plus I think that Entertainers should get extra exp for performing in a camp, and make it concurrent with the type of camp! That would go a LONG way to getting more Entertainers out of the Cantina and into the field, thus alleviating some of the AFK and grinding issues, makingit more fun and inclusive for them.
Field BioScience: Not much I can think of here, other than maybe having a way to "process" the materials we collect from creatures. Make oils, tanned leather, cured meat (possible buff items?), etc. That would definitely make us Rangers valued and UNIQUE, without unbalancing things. Maybe it would help define our role better as we're definitely weak when it comes to combat versus other melee / brawler classes! ![]()
Trapping: As the first post of this thread indicates some form of "Placed" trap. That is a very good idea! When will these become available? I have not seen any further notes on this issue. Is it dead in the water? I hope not! Placed traps are far more lethal or should be, than "grenade" traps, which I do value highly. Nothing like having Adhesive Mesh go off at the right time. First time my friends saw me "root" a Torton with one they all couldn't believe it. I got lots of compliments that day! lol
To sum up: I think the Ranger is a great class and couldn't wait to get started on it and down into the Scout Profession (which I mastered in 7 days with alot of hard grinding!). But I definitely feel we need something more and the above posts what I mentioned would go a long ways to helping us define our role better, especially in play-balance!
May the Force Be With youbrothers and sisters!

One more thing! lol
Devs: In keeping with the tradition of the Ranger's that served with the Old Republic, would it be possible for any future expansion that includes planets, that we Rangers be given special notification so that we could actually do our job and go SCOUT the planet out before any other classes got to it? Maybe limit it for a limitedtime of say a month,to only Master Rangers, and they couldinvite a group of friends from other professions (all of them would have to be a Master as well)by invitation only from said Master Ranger? Wouldn't that also be a great way to "test" the planet before LIVE to everyone, where we could report any bugs.
I think that would be too cool, to actually be the first Rebel to step foot upon Hoth before the Rebel Alliance actually sets up base. We'd be the actual Rangers that scout it for the Alliance, given as a mission from Princess Leia or General Rieken (sp). Maybe have it as a special act even. People would be sending Master Rangers /tells for days to get in on their scout mission. ![]()
Conversely for my Evil brethren in service to the Empire, maybe they'd be the first to step foot on an Imperial remote planet, like some of the planets in the "Thrawn Trilogy", such as a mission for Lord Vader to scout out rumors of a race on the planet Honoghr, home of the Noghri. And Neutral Rangers could be the first to set foot on the planet New Cov, Bespin,or Rishi to find what mysteries lie within? Obviously some of these planetswould be pre-Thrawn trilogy but would be a nod to the Master novelist and his hard work and followers of that era, and fit in to the current timeline that SWG is set without changing the "official canon" of Star Wars. Perhapsthis would drawin MORE players as potential "customers" for LucasArts / SOE! ![]()
Lord Vader: "You are not aRanger yet"
Onokin: "No, but I expect to be by months end Lord Vader, so beware!"
Lord Vader Force grips Onokin!
Onokin: "Gasp! I forgot my steel-reinforced collar!"
