While hunting on the Ryatt Trail the tactic I use is :

Sniper Shot

Knee Cap

P-Dart

Startle

Head Shot

Ranged Shot ( I think, game not accessable now so not too sure of the name)

That seems to work for me. Of course with that stratagy, one has to be patient to find a critter not too close to the others so the whole herd doesn't eat you for lunch.

Dropping the counter-sniping line would be the worst mistake of your life. As we told you, you'll want snares. Improved kneecap shot is the only snare rifleman has. So clearly, dropping that would be going against the advice we gave you, wouldn't it? Now, as for soloing Krayts. A lot of people used to be able to do this because they used a bug in the game. Once the bug became well-known, they fixed it. However, a lot of people didn't get the memo and respec'd into Ranger just for the ability to hunt Krayts. Sorry, but the only reason Rangers solo Krayts better than any other profession is because it tends to attract smart people. You aren't going to out-power a Krayt, so you have to out-think it. If you can't do that, then you're probably not ever going to solo a krayt.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Pretty much sums up most professions.

okay... so you mean having only stims for heals and no medic skills is enough?

If you're a level 80, which Ranger/Rifleman is, you'll be able to use stim D's. They can heal for over 1000 damage. Pick up some Ruby Biel, which allows you to use another stim much more quickly. The idea with being a Ranger is that you don't want to be hit at all. That's the real key to victory. Check out my "Guide to Big Creature Hunting" that I just posted here.
