play knights of the old republic 2 sometime then. some of the Mandolorians on Dxun sure seem alot like Rangers, at least in the sense of being big game hunters, and jungle guides.
but don't play 2 without playing 1, or you'll be all confused.
They choose to live on a moon that has all sorts of massive beasts to keep their skills up aswell has hide from the rest of the world because nobody would be crazy enough to go there to look for them.

i'm replaying KOTOR2 right now. when i first got it, i was all goodie-goodie light jedi.
now i'm being as dark as possible. i am at level 4 Sith Lord right now, and i have CRAZY force powers. i used Force Persuade to convince a Leexard to jump down 100s of feet to his death. made him think that was a better idea than mugging me.
sounds alot like Rangers to me. living in the middle o' nowhere. trying to avoid Jedi at all costs, ect.

Just to make a point, Kotor2 is one of the most incomplete and disapointing titles i have ever had the misfortune to play. I trust you have all seen the missing data files and have got around 80% of the way through then just thought eh? how the hell and why the hell are we here? Where did everyone go? what happened to my love interest? What are we here for?
The game sucked 100%. The first half of the game was great but wow, Lucasarts really did mess that game up bad. For those that dont know, apparently Obsidian wanted 6 more months to complete the game, Lucasarts gave them 1 and it shows. You only have to look for the mission audio files of conversation between key characters, the miss death scripts and the abandoned plot routes that are all present on the discs in a fractured form to realise how much LA really messed up a 'would of been great' game.
Ok thats my rant off and why im growing more and more tired of marking crap 
I would say that mandolorians share a few common traits with rangers however,i tend to think that rangers are a much less barbaric and more civilised group

Towards the end of KOTOR 2 I had become very confused about what was going on and I couldn't understand why (I made sure I spoke to each character often, fully explored every area and did all the bonus quests). I think I learned something too early on in the game as well, I just kept thinking "Why am I still hanging around with you like everything's fine?". Anyway, thanks for clearing that up for me.
KOTOR 1 was the best game I've ever played (and I've played a lot of games, heh). I mean if they'd used a story as good as that in the prequel trilogy, Lucas would be back to the glory days he had in 1977. It's a shame when the suits find out something's making money and then go and mess things up
Cant agree more bud, i loved Kotor 1 so so so much. It is prety much the complete game. Kotor2 was great up to a point then all the work you had put into character progression, interaction and story developement went out the window. Characters just disapeared, reapeared from nowhere and some even just stop interacting all together. Have you ever heard the added voice samples that were to go into the game? and the scripts that where taken from the files on the disc?
Aparently, you had to choose between loyalties of the handmaden and the blind woman depending who you placed trust in and if you didnt kill them. Anton (?) was suposed to of done something, i cant remember, HK was suposed to of made an apearance, the little droid who i forget his name was suposed to have had a very large part in detonating the planet (instead his bit part plot just didnt make sense) and also that other woman was suposed to open up later on. Add on top of that, the end story was suposed to involved Bastilla and Carth in a much bigger way.
Hopefully there will be another Kotor, on the 360 and they will it right.

Did you ever get a chance to sign the original restoration of kotor2 petition? I managed to get my name down and i think it topped over 140,000 people all together. I would really hope they could go back and finish the game but i cant see it happening on an official level simply because LA dont want to be seen as forcing the game onto the shelves.
