Thread: Mask Scent problem

Flynn...that is a valid interpretation, IMO... That coupled with the to hit bonus means that a creature will always aggro on the Ranger first...
LOL
In the beginning......(always wanted to say that) non of the scout/ranger skills abilities worked indoors, which included caves. Anything with a roof (excluding camps, maybe why they leak) you were unable to mask, camo, or use traps. A few months back they made the destinction of "caves" and other indoor structures in game. We can now actually throw a trap in a cave. I think, not positive, you can apply mask scent while in a cave(previously couldnt and got error) but not /conceal. the conceal does give an error about being indoors.
Now I do know if the mask scent is supposed to work in caves. There are two points. I put it on outside and go in. Does it actually work or not inside cave. Second, when I'm in cave, can I apply mask scent. IMHO if they now have it so you can apply mask while in a cave, then it should actually be working. Otherwise dont let us be able to apply it, thus making us think it is working.
But my experience with getting attacking not breaking mask is all over. Grouped and solo. But Kreetles always actually break it before attacking me. ![]()
Whereas a non-masked soler only is subject to the "do I see you or dont I". then all normal attack rules apply.
point being, I seem to remember a penalty installed for failing a check while masked, so sometimes it wasnt "worth the risk", you were better off subject to the normal "unmasked" check and pass/fail rules, because there was no guarantee or penalty as is associated with failing while masked.
Yep, I remember those days. We all through a big stink that it was almost a penalty to be using mask scent. I remember them working on it (remember sooooo many people have MS so devs actually listen). It was more or less fixed and mask scent was working much much better. But since then, maybe in last couple of months, mask has been, well best word, flaky.
