It depends on what you want to achieve of course. Try this one:
Master Ranger
Master Policitian
Master Merchant
Huh?
...snip...
Carbineers will get some very nice things in publish 7, so that might be an exciting combat prof to try... I don't know why the ham costs are an issue... because I don't know why anyone would ever go out hunting without buffs... makes no sense.

Ranger CH and Medic. Great for groups..can build camps and heal, also throw a pet into battle to help out. But also you can trully solo where no man has solo'd before. You have no Marksman skills, Darth_me? That'd freak me out.
Ooops...I personally am pistoleer, and yes I add rife or pistol to that combo.
Do not listen to the heathens amongst the group... melee is where it's at. If you want to hide in the bushes like a pansy, pick up a rifle. But if you want to fight like a man/woman and earn your hide, pick up a blade and wade on in there.Heck.. concealment is fun to sneak up on the enemy and whack away at him, while his buddies stand there asking "what's wrong, Bob?"
As far as that goes, TKs are supposedly the uber-damagers, as above mentioned. Swordsmen are heavy damage. Fencers are fast as heck, with good defenses. Pikemen.. well.. ah... we have the damn coolest looking styles. ![]()
The best thing about Rifleman (although they had to fix BAF effects, very nasty bug there) is /conceal and using /concealShot. How this works is a slow firing but undetectible unless you miss shot that hits a random ham pool, leaving the target unawares. Non-ranger rifleman can eeek out 3 misses when prone before this effect is cancled butadding in the Conceal (if it does not break) gets you 3 more for a total of 6 misses. Not much lasts that long, even Krayts... but don't think about that: it's far too slow and will despawn or you run out of stomach and hit downer long before getting to half it'sHAM. In fact, it usually despawns and you get a fresh new one.
This can be used to solo some lower Rancor groups, but most TKM can just walk up and blow them over any way, if set up properly. The upper ones have enough HAM that you have to shoot the whole of the 2 or 3 waves to keep from having to deal with "friends" while harvesting... and some of the first bodies rot by that time. TKM or H Sword can sweep and do that more effeciently. That SS2 might get a few of them but there will be enough left to make me in to pasty Rifleman pudding without something to distract them. I suppose buffing and armour would help as HAM coast on any rifleman speacial prohibits use of armour. I usually don't want to waste the time (but then I'm always waiting on Tomo and Caiden... mmmm...).
