From the way I'm reading that announcement, you get a share of the total XP based on how many are in the group PLUS a bonus amount, which means MORE XP being awarded when grouped. That doesn't seem to be what people have been experiencing... but then again, most of the 'reports' have been of the om!!g...u nerfed xp u r teh suxxors fix it.... Which is, as ever, really, really helpful.
Well, it is the max amount of xp that you would have gotten yourself if you were solo (think maybe the max number is calculated from the group level) / divided by the number in the group + the bonus. So, assuming 6 in group, 6000 solo / 6 = 1000 each + the bonus. Rabedeko and I saw this over and over tonight.
Scout XP does not seem to be affected by this, though it is no longer being reported as a system message. Rab., myself, and a few others were hunting level 80ish voritors all night and I was seeking around 4k scout xp per harvest. Is this what everyone else is seeing?

So it looks like solo creature missions with a droid just came back into vogue.
I have maxed scout so many times it doesn't matter. I have 3 million FS banked in the stupid Senses area that I can't freaking use.

Aw go on JB... break the mould, make your jedi a huggly cuddly jedi... you know you want to
fwiw, the XP changes won't make that much of a difference to me as I rarely (read never) group now other than for some social huntin', fishin' 'n' shootin' when XP isn't what's important.

"oops"
Without a group there to take the damage my pets just die. This gives me two options: either attempt this very slow grind by grouping, or drop all of my Rifleman / Ranger skills to lower my CL enough so I can use my pets on solo missions (sounds a lot like trapping xp, doesn't it?)
Any advice???

Here's my advice with this being I have ch/bh. Take whatever pet or group of pets you are using. ie 1 lvl 60+ or 2 lvl 35's. basically so your pets are very close in combat lvl. pick up novice medic so you can heal them while they fight. DO NOT GROUP WITH THEM. have you pets fight creatures that are close to your pets combat lvl. You will get full ch xp when they kill the creature. I've been doing since the ch changes went through and it makes leveling much easier.

Just some rough numbers. Im Cl 80 and grouped with a cl21 and a cl 17. we were doing lvl 80 kima missions. Ungrouepd i was getting around 4k carbinesxp. Grouped I was getting 989 carbines xp and my group mates were getting around 260 xp.
Interesting, was the 4k with the CL21 and 17 doing damage? or were youcompletly solo? If they were doing damage it sounds like there's the solution to the XP problem.

Yup, that's how it's meant to work, and that's certainly how Tiggs seemed to say it was working. I'm just waiting to see if it IS working like that or if it's more like we were seeing on TC before I go unpacking the bunting or packing my bags

Yep - this makes sense. I was trying to keep up with the math last night as well (making sure that what was displayed was actually what was awarded). I think all in all my weapons xp gain was about maybe 1/3 of 1/4 of what it was normally. My scouting xp gain seemed about normal. This is just qualitative though. Normally, it takes me one round of missions to max my carbines XP (that is in a group of 6-8), but after ~two rounds of missions, my carbines xp was only around 600k. I did manage to max my scouting xp though :> In both cases, I started at around 0 xp as I had just visited the village the night before.

From my experience CH xp is solely based on your CL vs. the enemy CL, regardless of the level of creatures you are using so this is not true. Even if I dropped all of my rifle skills first I'd still be around CL60 but only able to use CL24 max pets. They certainly aren't going to survive against CL60's even if I try to heal them. Apparently there is a bug which causes you to be rewarded with a fairly large amount of CH xp when killing low level creatures (it occurs 25% of the time and you also lose the loot/harvest rights when it happens). This might be what you were seeing.
Anyway, I just heard a great idea which should hopefully solve my problem. You can actually gain up to 12000 CH xp by getting your pet to destroy lairs after finishing off all the creatures yourself. I'm hoping similar rewards are given for destroing low level lairs, so I guess I'll be testing that tonight

Well the original plan was I was going to disband and let them kill a high lvl creature. Jus to see how their exp was then. I was going to heal while they fought. Didnt work out very good because they would get one hit incapped. They did do damage, but i had to step in and kill the kima. I got xp they didnt get any. We regrouped minissioned teh mission then all disbanded. The two lower lvls could get more xp doing their level missions then they could grouped with me doing missions 40 lvls above them.
I still don't understand it.
If scouting xp is split between the same number of people in the group as weapons xp is, would that be under the assumption that everyone in the group can harvest and everyone in the group has a weapon?

I am trying to remember what the damaged based xp levels were like pre-CU. I rmember that when the CU went live I was shocked by the huge amount of xp I was getting. Is this just a sort of reversion to the usual amounts you would get pre-CU when you shared the xp pool, or is it really a vast reduction?
Hmm, this is interesting. I also remember being shocked by the amount of xp I was getting. However, I also remember being shocked by the vast increase in experience required to get boxes in ranger (1 million for master!!).
