"Camps are a Ranger ability and are therefore broken. All Ranger features are designed to be broken.

It is our feeling at SOE that as Rangers, you should be accustomed to hardship. We are working on a way to disable your mouse, keyboard, and monitor when you log in so you can truly experience the feeling of 'roughing it'.

No need to thank us.

yah it does work now they fixed it no so long back....camp u too be bugged and im pretty sure animals would attack just for the fun of it, but now they do get reppelled but not high end ones like rancors for instance but i have had giant sevoorts spawn in my camp and run off with out aggroin any of the people who were in the camp at that time.

I was wondering if there is a known issue regarding a camp's ability to "repel aggressive creatures." The reason I say this is because almost every time I have setup camp near an aggresive creature, the creature almost always attacks me while in camp anyway.

Now, I'm a Master Ranger using High Tech Field bases and level 18 Huurton's are coming into my camp to attack me. I'm not trying to complain, but without even the repel feature working properly, camps are fast becoming simply "a nice place to sit."

Also, do any of you know if a spatial comment is made when a creature is supposedly repelled? Would be nice to really know that the camp is working. Or perhaps the note might be included in the Camp Status report similar to when a visitor comes to camp?

AgainI could see a Rancor breaking the repel of a High Quality Camp but a level 18 creature breaking a HTFB setup up by a Master? Can anyone tell me whether this is a known "broken" feature?

Thank you.

No. No they don't. But they look cool. Just don't mind the tree growing where the fire is blazing.

I'm glad someone brought that up. I was chillin in my HighQual Camp the other day, and some huurtons spawned near me. THe bastards jumped me in my camp. So i re-read the description and, lo-and-behold, it did indeed say it was supposed to repel aggresive creatures. Oh well....

BTW - I'm a new Ranger and I LOVE IT! The /areatrack is awesome. Very handy tool, it is.

Is our tracking ability at lvl4 greater than a BH?

You know, I think camps do repel agressive creatures, but just not high level ones.

Last night in the Great Endor Hunt (tm) I was the only ranger in a party of n00bs I was trying to keep alive (I was the only one buffed with armour!). I put up my camp (first level ranger camp, Improved camp I believe), and while there were some dangerous critters around us, and I was the only one masked, we werent attacked. We even had a Hilltop Gurreck Hunter come INTO the camp, but it didnt attack anyone.

This brought me to the conclusion that while camps dont "repel" creatures in the dictionary sense of the word, they may prevent the creature from attacking its occupants.

Of course all this camping was ruined when someone let off a blaster at the creature and I had to disband the camp to save ma n00bs. Nothing like a noob going out to explore, then 2 seconds later running back to camp screaming to kill the spiders chasing him.

My HTFB at master ranger didnt repel a couple canabal Dewbacks. And they are only about level 12. Pretty sad.

"Can someone stop this kreetle from chewing on my toes? I'm trying to sleep"
"Whats inside that tent? No really, I want to know"
"Leave camp, fire go down, enter camp, fire go up, leave camp, fire go down"

Maybe we can hide in the shelters, and brandish torches to keep aggros out?
