Thread: Do you....
1. avoid towns excepting only to sell or resupply?
I prefer being in the wilderness but I can be a city guy sometimes (i cant stand the text pollution and afk enetrtainers). plus ya gotta rebuff and heal at points.
2. prefer to your paramilitary camo's or duster over that uber 70% kenetic armor in your pack that you never bother to wear? (this might only apply to rifleman)
when possible, I will always wear clothes. if you saw my inventory you'd see Im a clothing freak but I will use armor when necessary. I just dont like running around in it if Im not fighting.
3. disdain the use of a mission terminal?
yes, I for some reason have good luck ( or is it :smileyvery-happywith finding wild lairs. fps I use terminals of course.
4. prefer to use creature mounts over those noisy speeders when practical?
absolutely. I feel the need to embrace a gameplay element that is often overlooked and deemed useless (theyneed to look at perks for mount vs. vehicles sometime). I always hunt with a mount, but over long distances itll be a vehicle.even sometimes a mount, just to feel more rangery, plus they are more fun thanvehicles.
5. Solo most of the time or at best, only group with a small clicke of people youve grown to trust?
solo about 70% of the time, I hunt with guildies soemtimes and with my RL friends as much as possible.
6. feel proud when you have a very large stack of organics in your pack?
yes, but it's been a while since I've had a lot at once.
7. roam around alot and never stay in one place very long?
definitely yes, I love to explore and find new things that hardly no one has seen.
8. develop hunting patterns and have specific areas you prefer to hunt far away from mission terminal lairs?
definitely. if you play on my server, you can hit me up for secret hunting spots any time
9. prefer natural lairs over mission lairs? (this is a no brainer. lol)
yup yup
10. tend to be hard to find, even to guildmates half the time?
no
11. ever go anonymous while hunting because you don't want to be rude and turn down that track request tell from out of nowhere that you know will only end with you kissing the spawn tubes?
sometimes, especially onthemore difficultplanets like Dathomir, hunting far from outposts, you can come to me if you absolutely need training.
12. avoid using the title "tracker" and will use any other ranger title BUT tracker?
I've never used the tracker title, i did use hunt master in the olden days. I always have used Master title since I got it and always will.

Do you:
1. avoid towns excepting only to sell or resupply?
No. I love cantinas. I started as a dancer, mastered it, moved on, but i will always love cantinas.
2. prefer to your paramilitary camo's or duster over that uber 70% kenetic armor in your pack that you never bother to wear? (this might only apply to rifleman)
I wear my camos and duster often, but i wear my metal bikini and hotpants just as often (while fishing pole equipped. gotta work on my green tan on Tat at the oases from time to time
3. disdain the use of a mission terminal?
I'll get a few missions and then wander off to see what else i can find after mission completion.
4. prefer to use creature mounts over those noisy speeders when practical?
I love my falumpaset, bantha, and AV-21 equally.
5. Solo most of the time or at best, only group with a small clicke of people youve grown to trust?
Solo most of the time.
6. feel proud when you have a very large stack of organics in your pack?
Oh yes! Even more proud when i sell them of a good chunk of creds.
7. roam around alot and never stay in one place very long?
While i do roam, i do have a tendency to keep my neighbourhood clear of baddies. Just like it's a ranger's responsibility to keep the paths safe for others. (at least that's what a DM insisted in AD&D).
8. develop hunting patterns and have specific areas you prefer to hunt far away from mission terminal lairs?
Yup.
9. prefer natural lairs over mission lairs? (this is a no brainer. lol)
I squeal in delight everytime i find one!
10. tend to be hard to find, even to guildmates half the time?
Yes.
11. ever go anonymous while hunting because you don't want to be rude and turn down that track request tell from out of nowhere that you know will only end with you kissing the spawn tubes?
No. I delight in telling power lamers who want me to find Krayts/GDKs that they owe me 300k upfront for finding them spawns that will earn them millions. My time is worth something, dagnabbit!
12. avoid using the title "tracker" and will use any other ranger title BUT tracker?
I did use tracker when it was the first title available to me. But it's Master Ranger all the way. If i had to pick another one, it would be Wayfarer.

I live in one and have a vendor so I have to go 'home' at least once a week.
2. prefer to your paramilitary camo's or duster over that uber 70% kenetic armor in your pack that you never bother to wear? (this might only apply to rifleman)
I usually never wear armour or buff for that matter. My BE medical pants and ubese shirt are all I require unless I am taming and then Iequip my taming suit.
3. disdain the use of a mission terminal?
Like JB I usually grab a couple missions in a general direction I wish to head then use /areatrack after that.
4. prefer to use creature mounts over those noisy speeders when practical?
I always use creature mounts the exception being when I am out hunting with friends and need my speeder to keep up.
5. Solo most of the time or at best, only group with a small clicke of people youve grown to trust?
/agree
6. feel proud when you have a very large stack of organics in your pack?
/agree although the smell can become overpowering at times lol
7. roam around alot and never stay in one place very long?
/agree with the exception of living in a city
8. develop hunting patterns and have specific areas you prefer to hunt far away from mission terminal lairs?
/agree. I only really have these patterns on a couple planets... I should really look into developing more.
9. prefer natural lairs over mission lairs? (this is a no brainer. lol)
/agree
10. tend to be hard to find, even to guildmates half the time?
/agree most people don't want to travel 7km outside a city with a shuttle to visit.
11. ever go anonymous while hunting because you don't want to be rude and turn down that track request tell from out of nowhere that you know will only end with you kissing the spawn tubes?
12. avoid using the title "tracker" and will use any other ranger title BUT tracker?
/agree I liked the old "Hunt Master" title better. I use Master Scout a lot as well as Stimpak Chemist.

Do you:
1. avoid towns excepting only to sell or resupply?
Nah. I don't hang around too long, but I don't avoid them.
2. prefer to your paramilitary camo's or duster over that uber 70% kenetic armor in your pack that you never bother to wear? (this might only apply to rifleman)
I only wear armor while in combat...I am back in my 'street clothes' before I get back to town to head home for the evening.
3. disdain the use of a mission terminal?
Yeah, but how else can we find creature to hunt?
4. prefer to use creature mounts over those noisy speeders when practical?
I use vehicles to get to my hunting grounds then I try to stay on foot.
5. Solo most of the time or at best, only group with a small clicke of people youve grown to trust?
Yup.
6. feel proud when you have a very large stack of organics in your pack?
I feel relieved usually...it means my Doc won't make me hunt anymore.
7. roam around alot and never stay in one place very long?
Nah...once you find a good hunting area, you gotta milk it for for all it's worth.
8. develop hunting patterns and have specific areas you prefer to hunt far away from mission terminal lairs?
Used, but haven't really done much hunting lately.
9. prefer natural lairs over mission lairs? (this is a no brainer. lol)
Duh.....
10. tend to be hard to find, even to guildmates half the time?
Nope..
11. ever go anonymous while hunting because you don't want to be rude and turn down that track request tell from out of nowhere that you know will only end with you kissing the spawn tubes?
Nope...too much work to go anonymous and I rarely get tells fo that nature, anyway..
12. avoid using the title "tracker" and will use any other ranger title BUT tracker?
Master Ranger is always above my head.
Ducimus wrote:

Not at all. I like hanging out in Cantinas on occasion, or I might set up the largest camp I can outsideMos Eisley or such just to get people wondering / interested in what's going on.
2. prefer to your paramilitary camo's or duster over that uber 70% kenetic armor in your pack that you never bother to wear? (this might only apply to rifleman)
I am also a Swordsman, so the Ubese stays on generally. Such is the necessity when one goes blade-to-fang with one's prey.
3. disdain the use of a mission terminal?
The explorer one? Definitely. However I rather enjoy using my abilities as a Ranger to further my faction, or help me with picking up some missions for credits to pay for armor / food / travel.
4. prefer to use creature mounts over those noisy speeders when practical?
Don't have a creature mount. By the same token, if in unfamiliar territory I find it safer to go on foot.
5. Solo most of the time or at best, only group with a small clicke of people youve grown to trust?
Solo, or solo-group often. However, tend to join groups intended for the group effort when asked, and have put together hunting parties which can be quite entertaining.
6. feel proud when you have a very large stack of organics in your pack?
Definitely.Sign of a long, successful hunt.
7. roam around alot and never stay in one place very long?
Tend to work an area until I get familar enough that I can recognize the landmarks and find my way rather than resort to the planetary map.
8. develop hunting patterns and have specific areas you prefer to hunt far away from mission terminal lairs?
Do like the extended jaunt, trying to find areas well away from player cities and other municipal areas. Half the fun is having the opportunity to camp out and recoup.
9. prefer natural lairs over mission lairs? (this is a no brainer. lol)
Of course. Diamonds in the rough, they are.
10. tend to be hard to find, even to guildmates half the time?
No guild, and not to hard to find. I'd rather play in the company of others if it can be arranged. Just with time constraints and common attitude, solo or solo-group play is what is more commonly available.
11. ever go anonymous while hunting because you don't want to be rude and turn down that track request tell from out of nowhere that you know will only end with you kissing the spawn tubes?
Purposely go the other way with it. I leave myself searchable, and put the most experienced ranger title up that I have.
12. avoid using the title "tracker" and will use any other ranger title BUT tracker?
From above, my current title is "Tracker". When I manage Master Ranger, I will go about as a Master Ranger.
One thing I do then to do, whether in a solo-group or just walking the planets, is try to step in and help people that seem to be biting off more than they can chew.

Yeah that bugs me when I get tells when I'm out hunting from people that want me to track something for them. If I'm out hunting, I'm usually under contract, or conducting our weekly guild hunt. So I have to respond to the guy that I am hunting right now. They always ask when I'll be free, and I have to say not today. If you see me in a city then I am free for hire. That is why I'm in cities most of the time. I also let the inadvertant teller know that if I'm out in the wilderness then I'm unavailiable for hire. I was thinking of changing my title but just can't drop the master ranger. THere are so few of us that wear the title proudly.
yep - when you head out into the wilderness, type "/anon" - this will make it so you don't show up in /who searches. Then, when you're more willing to get tells from people, type "/anon" again to make yourself show up. One of the best features in the game IMO.

I'm a Master Creature Handler, just got it, and I'm thinking of taking Tracking III due to skill point henderances, would love to go Master Ranger, but can't, and at the moment, Tracking is the only line that appeals to me. However, I look at your list and a lot of it discribes me as well....for example.
Do you:
1. avoid towns excepting only to sell or resupply?
There is only one town I ever goto and that is Unity on Dantooine. Any other town I either am just passing through via the Star Port, or have no choice but go through it on a hunt.
2. prefer to your paramilitary camo's or duster over that uber 70% kenetic armor in your pack that you never bother to wear? (this might only apply to rifleman)
I don't wear paramilitary camo's, I wear my black my black trim shirt and black paramilitary camos with thermo boots, I have a bone armor sleeve on my left arm at all times and a bone armor right bracer on my right arm at all time. And if I do happen to have to wear armor, I wear black comp chest, helm, gloves, boots and bone right and left bicep, bone right and left bracer and bone leggings. This is mainly for effect, due to being a True albino down to the bright red eyes.
3. disdain the use of a mission terminal?
Like someone mentioned earlier, I use it occasionally for money missions if I am running low. My hides and meat usually goto my friends for free because they supply to me for free.
4. prefer to use creature mounts over those noisy speeders when practical?
I always prefer using my Brackaset (NoName) when I'm out on the hunt or just riding and don't have to go quickly. It just fits my character and my attitude. And a lot of times, if I'm in a group, we all usualliy are on mounts.
5. Solo most of the time or at best, only group with a small clicke of people youve grown to trust?
If you mean with out other PCs, then yes, but considering I'm an MCH, I never hunt alone.
6. feel proud when you have a very large stack of organics in your pack?
Most Definatly, becauseI know I did good and that my friends will be happy.
7. roam around alot and never stay in one place very long?
Everyday, I'm on a differnt planet.
8. develop hunting patterns and have specific areas you prefer to hunt far away from mission terminal lairs?
For the most part, no, but mostly, I'm usually at the far edges of the map, away from civilization.
9. prefer natural lairs over mission lairs? (this is a no brainer. lol)
No doubt, more spawns and better harvest yeild for the most part.
10. tend to be hard to find, even to guildmates half the time?
Guild and Sister Guild usually knows where to find me. And if they don't, I'm usually only a /t away.
11. ever go anonymous while hunting because you don't want to be rude and turn down that track request tell from out of nowhere that you know will only end with you kissing the spawn tubes?
Have not had the pleasure of this yet.
12. avoid using the title "tracker" and will use any other ranger title BUT tracker?
Have not had the pleause yet.

So, basically, even if I don't want to be a master ranger, would I still be accepted as a Life Style member due to our simularities? Or does only wanting up to Tracking III make me a dabbler only, no mater if our simularities in attitudes and ideas?
Either way, I've always found the Ranger forums a good read.
NP - All are welcome here regardless of their skillset -- I think there are many people here who just have ranger 0040, but still consider themselves (and rightfully so) "master rangers."
