I'm glad to see it going ... you've completed all the trees, I see no point of it.
So much has changed since some of us long timers started and most of it I wouldn't mind forgetting.
Sure there will be a social aspect to this that will go but it could be weeks before you have enough APP to Master a prof.
Who cares about the social part, I just wanna have fun playing what I've worked so hard on.
Most of the time this was frustrating because if you don't hang out in CNET for days and days you won't get all that APP that's needed, then there's a huge part of the social aspect out the window because you can't spend time with your buddies.
One way that I was able to gain some APP was to watch over a novice TK (me being a Master) and train them as they needed it. It's a huge help to them and to yourself.

Heh Cryos. Never had a post of mine linked on another forum. Now I am special. YAY!
Anyway, yah APP was just to keep us being social. Most MMO game companies have this fear that if they dont put systems in place to force us to be social, we will be a bunch of soloers running around never saying anything to anyone. They doubt human nature and its first addiction required, human contact. Even a hard crusty hermit needs a little social interaction or they will go nuts.
But APP did need to go. It was one of the first commodities in game. I have even seen Ebay auctions for it. Time to say goodbye to that.

I don't like it. It seems to me they are doing EVERYTHING they can to remove what little oppurtunities to meet new people there are.
-No more striking up a convo with strangers waiting for a Starport
-No more striking up a convo waiting for a shuttle
-No more standing around a starport advertising training and meeting/talking with people....
I don't like it

So without APP you will never just strike up a convo? Sounds like somebody needs to learn some social skills. If you have to have something to make you want to interact then your really weak on the social front.
99% of the advertising for training never leads anywhere. You shout you will train people. Even offering to pay to train people (yah real believable there). Some guy comes up to get trained. You train him then he runs off. Do you continue to talk to the guy? Do you immediately add him to your friends list? No you do nothing but wait for the next bloke to come along. So you see APP doesnt do whats intended. Its yet one more cold hard commodity and nothing more.
