Basically after i brought this up and lots agreed, G stepped in and asked what things we would like to see improve the apeal of mounts.
Atm im not sure what direction this could go. Whether we get the skill for all, for only mounts or not at all. Ill keep you posted though.

I dont remember whih of you touched on this but,
I would love to get a pov bonus, why cant we get a tracking distance bonus when high up or perched?
and in response.. I am a ranger, yeah, yeah eyes like an eagle... IM shorter than most and most of the time scanning the horizon I couldnt see over the nearest pile of bantha fodder!

Nothing to get upset about. They didn't really get anything. As an Artisan one of the first things I did was write this macro:
/dismount;
/pause 1;
/survey;
/pause 1;
/mount
Witch is just a good as being able to do it from your mount. As soon a I got tracking I wrote this.
/dismount;
/pause 1;
/areatrack;
/pause 1;
/mount
Don't know if you need those pauses in there but with navigating the menu it dosn't really matter. You get to see youre toon do the animation from the back of your speeder...
I keep this handy to put on my toolbar. I could care less if they gave us the ability to do it from mounts.

Tracking you need to be on the ground... But that said soo do you have to be to sample.. but they let you do that from a mount. TO me its stupid and i know im gonna get flamed on the artisan boards for posting that you shouldnt but ahh well..

I'd say it needs to be a different form of track that you're doing while on a vehicle... one I'd like to see anyway. once you do the original areatrack, select a creature/npc/player from the list and close the track window and that specific creature gets "targeted" and the target arrow on your radar points to them (just a name and grey box in your HUD while at 500m). ie: you've located the set of tracks for that one specific ravenous torton and you're following them to where he is, and if he moves you're still locked-on to his tracks as long as he doesn't leave planet or get killed. When you get within visual range, he's already targetted. This is more likely from a mount, because you've already pinpointed his tracks and now you're just following his tracks (like the yellow brick road track that was discussed over a year ago).
