You get around 100 camping xp for making camps and camo.

The biggest problem I see with conceal right now is that I have no idea when it is up or down (unlike mask scent). I know that sometimes I can stand right next to an NPC or creature that hates me and they don't notice me, and other times they notice me from a mile away.

Nraas you guys crack me up. I'm about 40 minutes from home, wirthout a vehicle and I was thinkink hard about it myself.

Here is my two cents though:

I am fine with the bump in xp (even though I was only 4k away from Tracking 4 when I logged Tues night. Everything else looks to be really fun as well. The camo kits are pretty disheartening though. Why wouldn't a Ranger be able to forage for these things himself? I point to the glaringly obvious example of one of the most widely known and respeted Master Rangers, Aragorn, of Lord of the Rings?

Does anyone really believe he couldn't forage for the items needed for the camo kits? Rangers in any game are, for the most part, in very close touch with nature. I understand (if not necessarily agree with) the planet specific resources. We should be able to forage for these items in quantities greater than one, and should not have to buy them from artisans or prop up ugly, unnatural harvestors either. I have always been of the belief that Rangers should be healers to some extent as well. Unfortunately as several others have already astutely pointed out, we do not have enough skill points to do the things we need to do.

Just my humble opinion for what its worth. I agree with other posters that foraging should be an inate ability for us, just like tracking. Nraas I heartily agree with other Ranger in stating you are so calm in these forums. You are a benefit to our profession and the forums as well.

"We should be able to forage for these items in quantities greater than one, and should not have to buy them from artisans or prop up ugly, unnatural harvestors either."

- From our point-of-view, it may be acceptable to have each profession self-sufficient when it coming to resources.

- But from the developers point-of-view, they need to look at the larger picture of "encouraging" user interaction within the game system (as mostpeople migrate towards independence, myself included)

- I hate pointing it out, as it seems to bring out all the critters out from the shadows, but we are playing a Multi-Player game.

- Now you can be self-sufficient if you acquire the proper skills, but you must give up something for it (namely you can't use those skill points elsewhere). However you can spend a little coin and purchase all the materials you will ever need from a professional Miner (they do exist ).

- As well, if you can find a like minded group of people, you can trade services for resources (as my Medic does... Healing me in battle in return for ample resources).

- If this were Middle Earth Online, I would agree with your Aragorn analogy... Sadly, that is not the case.

- It is most likely the case that /medicalforage will never pull more than 1-2 resources at a time, as it would compete with Surveyors if it did. If they change /forage to pick up flora elements, plan forit to do the same.

One comment I'd also like to add for those who think we as Rangers should be able to forageall of what we need for the camo kits...

Why do you think its OK then for weapons users, i.e. pistolleers, riflemen, swordsmen, etc. to normally be required to rely on another player, i.e. a weaponsmith, for an item they use as an inherent part of who they are? Don't riflemen know rifles and how they should be made? Aren't they rifle experts? Yes, any rifleman CAN also be a weaponsmith but most are not. Just like any ranger CAN be a surveyor but most are not. I don't seea problem here.

Here is what I'm seeing in game concerning /areatrack: (Keep in mind I have only attained Tracking 1).

command: /areatrack

system response: Window is brought up to ask you what you want to track (i.e Animals, People, Distance, & Players)

command: select animals

System response: "You begin to examine the environment for information"

Note: Don't move while scanning or you'll become "too distracted to track"

Results: a 50 x 50 window comes up with a list of animals giving you a type and direction they are located in. Once selected the system gives you NO MORE information.

I'm seeing no waypoints or anything else....So, in my opinion this is a pretty valid (true to life) way of tracking. You are reading the environment in your immediate area and then tracking to them.
