Here it is, fellow rangers (especially those at work)!

Scout / Ranger changes

  • The cost to craft camps has been increased. This was done to bring these craftables more in line with other craftable items that grant XP. (Since crafting camps and traps now grants Wilderness survival XP). Also, with the new changes to grouped Scouts being able to work together in organic resource harvesting, there is an influx of more resources into the world, and these higher resource requirements are meant to balance this.
  • Each scout in a group with loot permissions for a corpse may harvest from the corpse. Harvested group kills yield 60% their normal resources and xp, but may be harvested by each scout in the group.
  • Fishing now grants Wilderness Survival experience for catching fish. The size of the catch affects how much xp is earned. Catching loot or trash does not grant any xp.
  • Camp xp accumulation rates have been increased.
  • Scouts now get survival xp for crafting camps and traps (instead of general crafting xp).
  • The base equation for mask scent has changed. It now checks on a mask scent skill mod.
  • You are now much more likely to successfully mask scent against a creature.
  • The delay to mask your scent again now reduces as your mask scent skill mod increases.
  • You are much more likely to successfully mask scent if you are prone, slightly less likely if you are up and running.
  • XP rewards for mask scent have been lowered, given that success rates have increased.
  • Increased the cost of some Ranger skills because they were too low and not consistent with the advancement rates of other professions
  • New Ranger command: /conceal This command gives the Ranger the ability to apply high quality camouflage to himself and others. The camouflage conceals the Ranger from creatures and NPCs.
  • The Ranger's ability to see the special attacks of creatures via examine has been fixed.
  • The Ranger's Field Bioscience skill tree has been renamed Tracking.
  • New Ranger Ability: /areatrack, this command lets Rangers examine local clues to determine the identity of nearby creatures.
  • The damage penalty for taking a hit while using /feigndeath has been reduced by a significant amount.

  • [pokes Delta to post it in the Scout boards]

    /feigndeath is a Smuggler skill.

unless they have added it to Rangers I think it was a mistake.

The /feigndeath was a typo. The smuggler updates were right below the Ranger/Scout updates and they put it in the wrong area.

One small issue already - The tracking window is very small, so I tried to resize it so I could see more results. Unfortunately this window is locked at a 50/50 split between the upper and lower portions, so my upper section which had about 3 lines of text grew along with the result pane.

    WAAAAA!!!!!

Downloaded the patch this morning before I left for class. Now I have to surf these forums all day instead of listening to lecture.

Let us all know how these changes work.

    Can't wait to hunt now!

  • Fixed an exploit with /rescue. Rangers could force other players into PVP without their consent.

  • Hooah.

Did they adjust the XP requirements for scout skills and survival skills. I know there was some talk about uping the scout type skills and lowering the survival skills.

Yahooo!! Happiness is making Master Ranger 2 days before the xp requirements bump!!! Double happiness is having a correspondent who fights for our class and goes above and beyond to push for improvements. Rangers should be in rather high demand on the tough planets now. I may just for the heck of it go to Endor and stand outside the starport see if anyone notices.

Eclipse - Visit GD Mining for all your resource needs. Vendor located at
-4175/5374 1,382m from the Theed Starport straight out the shuttle launch door.

Tempest - Visit Grock's Slice and Spice Sanctuary located in the SiN City Med Center on Dantooine. WUK's, AUK's, Clamps, Laser Knives, Survival Knives and of course spices.

The different conceal kits take a floral like wood or oats, so now have to have an artisan run around searching this stuff out for you for each planet. Thats a lot of extra room in my inventory now i will need with specific components for each planet.

Will also require an artisan to find the floral, which ranger with any other master profession (rifle or pistol etc) wont be able to become artisan themselves. What a bummer.
