They still haven't given us the /track ability which we're getting. It will allow us to track a specific target.

Does anyone know when we are getting the other /track ability? Is it on Test yet?

- No I don't think it is on Test Center yet. The developer is still coding it.

- No ETA on its arrival either.

I was just home for a lunch break and was on lok and figured I'd give it a try. I found a group and started tracking kimo's for them. They loved me, it was amazing, I have a use in a group now. I got the feeling I could have asked for some credits for my services and they wouldn't have blinked an eye, going to be fun

I've been trying this out, and founda few problems already...

1 -- takes forever, and with no animation.

2 -- see end of 1... it'd be nice to, you know, kneel down and look at the ground to see the tracks

3 -- seems to only pick up stuff you've seen or still can on your radar. I ran into a pack of Shaupaut Hunters while running to my harvesters. Went back in ten minutes, tracked from 100m away, and didn't pick them up. Ran up, got attacked

Let's be honest. In real life, it doens't take long to pick up animal signs. Distance, yes. Now, maybe instead of doing it all at once, when you /areatrack, you should get a list of creatures/people with direction fairly quickly, then chose one to find the distance of.

Also, for people, you should only get a race.

Tracker: "hmmm, seems a Bob Dole's been walking through these parts..."

Hmm... the limitation on only tracking things that you have seen on your radar does seem somewhat lame. However, the reason for this (I imagine) is that the server "spawns" the creatures in front of you when you get close. I would be willing to bet that if you had a friend run past the creatures so they "spawned" and then you tracked them (even though you can not see them yet) then you would get them to show up. I do not think this would be anything easy to fix for the devs. Seems that high traffic areas makes it easier to trakck.

NOTE: if this is the case, then tracking players should never be a problem as they are always in the world. I am looking forward to tracking down rebels that are out hunting.

I had had one creature show up at over 500. That's a pretty good range. Well beyond radar range I believe.

I also want to add that it makes some sense that there would be a certain amount of randomness to it. I wouldn't be alarmed if you can't find creatures that you *know* are there cos you just saw them.

I love it,

Logged on at lunch today. /areatrack (takes about 7 seconds) List pops up with a bunch of stuff on it. See a GSP Baby listed to the south about 380m (I'm also CH 1/1/2/1) head off for the GSP, he's gone. Move south again about 300m and /areatrack again, boom. Ton of stuff. 2 GSP Babies listed about 400 m away. head there, train both. /areatrack rocks. And I can do it while moving too.

I have Tracking IV btw.

some /bugs I noted.

1. Dead stuff still shows on track.

2. Your pets show on track.

3. Player Buildings show on track as animals

I could have run around for hours and never seen the GSP's.

I don't see why people have to complain about something that hasn't been in the game longer than 6 hoursyet.

Oho
