At low level I am maxing Scout, novice entertainer ( i can heal wound in camp, but battle fatigue was a pain)I took survey and Engineering (2 of the artisan set) to lvl4, may sacrifice part of surveying later, but I maxed rifle ( going to get rifleman tree partway) and Im going to eventually get ranger and weaponsmith.

Icame up withMaster Ranger/Master Rifle + left in Ranged support and pistol for close encounters. But everyone here seems to have a good mix going. Ranger/TKA seems like an interesting combo.

I'm going Master TKA, Master Scout, Master Ranger, with the 17 remaining points going into Medic + Organic Chem I for the Health and Action wound packs. I won't be the best soloist by any means, but then the reason we're given huge camps in the Ranger line and the "Rescue" ability is for grouping.

I am currently working toward Master Scout / Master Ranger / First Responder. I have needed the medic skills since the first hunting session. I have also take some Marksman / Rifle training since when used with traps, rifles can not be beat.

In Radiant, I'm opting for Master Ranger, Master Pistoleer, Ranged III in the Marskman tree, and Novice Creature Handler with no medical. It fits real well with my image of what my character is, with NCH giving me the ability to keep 2 creatures that someone else bioengenieered for melee support.

Currently I have Novice Artisan and Novice Medic, but they will be dropped as I level closer to my target. They're there currently to keep my downtime to a minimum (stimpaks) and to help me gather the resources for bartering sessions with crafters.

I'm choosing this path because I'm in a good PA, with a great number of people, and hunt always with a group of friends that perfectly complement each other's skills. It's been my formula for everywhere I played and, if not the most sought after type or the most powerleveling group, I've never failed to enjoy my times playing. Hey, don't fix it if it ain't broke

Don't get too worked up about Ranger. I've been looking on other professions and right now they all seem a little gated and nerfed due to lack of advanced artisans and balance issues that people seem to have. Once the game's been out for awhile and the player economy begins to truly emerge things may get better.

I'm wavering between ranger and commando right now. If I decide Ranger this is what I'll do:

Master Scout, Master Ranger, Master Marksman and dabble in unarmed brawler combat.

With Master Marksman I'll be capable in all 3 ranged weapons (and each one has their own set of bonuses) so I'll be able to compete in ranged combat with any creature I come up against. I'll also do the the unarmed brawler combat for when the creature comes up to me I can drop my gun and punch him to death since "ranged" combat is limited in melee.

Also with Master Marksman/brawler if I ever decide to go the Commando route I'll have the pre-reqs and can just scrap some of my scouting things. However I love the idea of being able to be totally self sufficient in the field for long periods of time which is why I'm considering Ranger.

Of course since the games only been out a few weeks and with none of my skills past the intermediate point I've got a ways to go and a long time to decide.

Master Scout/Ranger

Master Rifleman (so I can use my bowcaster)

that leaves me with a few points to spare. I grabbed Artisan and Survey 1 so I could collect inorganics for traps and camps. I'm thinking of trading in Survey 1 for Ranged Combat though so I can get aim.

I personally love the way this game is designed so that you aren't restricted to single or even dual class play. I started off as a scout and I've leveled up to tier 3 of all my scouting abilities in addition to expert rifleman and expert swordsman. My goal is to become Master Ranger/Creature Handler/Sniper/Swordsman spec in Head and Mind Hits. But after playing through scout a bit i decided to take a break and now i'm leveling up to eng 4 and surveying 4 just so i can hit one of those elite craftsman professions. Just for kicks and to see a diff side of the game. Now my time in the field is completely full, when i'm not surveying, i'm running in between my harvesters while leveling up scout at the same time. Money isn't a problem cause i can get 3k easy from one mission run. I dunno just decided to spill my thoughts on the game. I know its buggy and all, but what new game isn't? It'll be fixed/balanced in the future. If ur on Kettemoor hit me up sometime

Here is what I have set.

Master Scout/Ranger, Master Creature Handler, Novice Fencer

I don't know there was just something about being on a mount one day with a sword that caught my attention. I like the image part of it more then the actual combat, but still fencing isn't a bad back up skill.

Going Master Ranger/Master TKA, I still haven't decided on the rest of my points. I'm at the beginning of the tree in both elite skills.

Master Ranger/Master Creature Handler/Pistol Specialist...and that leaves me 18 points to throw around. Haven't decided on Novice Medic, Artisan or Entertainer.

Novice Medic, to me, is really only good for getting group members and pets out of incap. If I want to heal, I just need to set camp. Takes longer, but we're never in much of a rush.

As for Artisan, I figure there's enough of those running around, as is - but if they don't change traps/camps, I might have to even give up Pistol Specialist so that I can get Engineering up far enough to actually make things effectively. I think this is ridiculous, really. But, oh well.

Entertainer so that I can heal mind wounds of my party, and if we happen to actually be in a town, their battle fatigue. I also kind ofenjoy dancing. However, I could only go up to Dancing I, and well...the only perk would be if they made it so that battle fatigue could be healed in high-end ranger camps. Then, baring a pressing need for Artisan, I would definitely keep my Entertainer status.

I'm already novice Ranger. Also going to go Mater Rifleman, and the remaining points will go to Creature Management 3 so that I can control two creatures and have like 4, I think that's right) creatures stored.

I like long range kills and I like the rangers speed and ability to camouflage. I also like going solo and the Ranger is perfect for soloing. With two creatures out, I just give them the command to guard me and, if they're tough and aggressive enough, take out any mob that tries to f#ck with me.

I won't need any of the other CH skills because a fellow guild member will tame, and train creatures for me.

I love this game!
