Thread: Veghash, I was not impressed

Addendum: I am sure a good Veghash pays for larger critters though - imagine the +37 bonus when hunting Kimogillas

It should even pay in the dreaded grouphunts for Rancors where about two dozen Rancors fall before the dose of Veghash runs out

Why am I eating to inhance harvest? Are there "sprits of Rangers past" in the plants used to make it? Dear god, this HAS become EQ in space... How does this work in a tech setting? How?

It's not magic, obviously the Veghash enhances your fine-motor skills. Your harvest increases because you are cutting more efficiently.

Or something like that....

I'm enjoy roleplaying, but the real point of foods like this is to give chief foods something to do that spices and other buffs can't. Iam able to suspend disbelief in a case like this.

Oh, one more thing, if I understand the "filling" system right (and I probably don't) I think we should be able to stack vegash. We may be able to eat as many as 3 of those simultaneously, which of course would mean that a 0-0-0-0 ranger would be able to harvest as well as a master. Something I'll definitely be trying as soon as I get my hands on some.

you can eat multiple of SOME food but i believe it is only stat mod food that is able to do that as i get a message saying something like "you are already under the influence of this food"(not exactly the message but its something like that) when i eat any skill mod food. However I have not trieda lotof the food since im working on perfecting my brandy right now.

Tested non-BE modified stuff last night and got to +16.8 on harvesting for 10 minutes with mediocre ingredients. I will put a 82% medium additive in next time I get to my factory and see what I get for it.

The PA is going to hunt on Endor next sunday for a laugh and I'll test the stuff on the big critters. One bite should be sufficient for one lair.

If the food provided some significant increases to harvesting with higher quality BE stuff, then it might be well worth it to buy some. By all means we should be encouraging the growth of the chef market, as that in turns provides us rangers with another potential buyer. As it was, a good meat that, had it been avian, would have sold for 40/unit, has to go for far far less as the only ones who really need it are chefs who don't have the money... even beginning medics make better money it seems.... Hopefully that will change soon, btw brandy is great.

Indeed. It was sad though... I did asearch on Naboo (Corbantis) through all the Chef vendors, and wasn't able to locate anyone who actually sold non-buff foods. I found four vendors still selling the old buff foods, and everyone else was selling the new buff foods.

Since I didn't use buff foods prior to the patch, they are really not making a new customer out of this Ranger.

Ah well... I will probably check the planets, but I suspect most Chefs on my server have yet to expand their inventory. Their loss.

I am a Chef on my alt.. and while the dif seems small.. it does increase on larger animals.. and I use +32 Vegash on my solo hunts, doing a few before and after test it makes at least a 10-15% dif by the time my buffs wear off and I call it a night.. which can often mean an extra 2-4K of stuff for me.. and a hunt I had with 5 guys all Vegash enhanced was crazy.. we must have pulled 10K more than we expected.

I'm 0/0/3/0 Ranger.

This stuff is good, however, I wouldn't bother with it unless it has been nutrition enhanced. There is quite a difference between +12 and +32 to creature harvesting. I noticed the difference on Dathomir while killing rancors while under the influence.

Best I've made with my alt is +31 creature harvesting 10m 48s, 5 uses, 16 filling

This item is NOT stackable, as all other skill mods aren't.

Got it to +30 with the medium additive, duration is 12 minutes per dose. The problem is that BE enhanced stuff costs and arm and a leg so it is probably not worth it unless you intend to hunt big critters in a group.

Do you think the non-BE enhanced stuff I described above would be used? I am currently in the process of preparing the subcomponent for it to run 10 crates of it for testing. FarStar Rangers might thus give it a try tomorrow

I think people stock up on buffs first as those products (and especially the Vasarian Brandy) are requested, have a high turnover at a very high price and are known to sell. I am cautious regarding the skill and stat food, too, putting up single stacks only and waiting for people's opinions. The pricing of those products causes a headache, too.

I'd welcome input of the local Rangers here regarding how much you get out of the Veghash unit and moneywise to determine a price that leaves both parties with a profit. If some FarStar Ranger wants to test it for me (numbers, I need numbers) I'd be more than willing to hand out some free stacks.

OK, taking the data from this thread:

+50 = 30% increase
+12.5 = increase from 69 to 74 units = roughly +7.5%

It can thus be extrapolated that the +30 would bring an 18% increase in harvests.

If you harvest 10 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get 11.8 with the +30 Veghash
If you harvest 50 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get59.0 with the +30 Veghash
If you harvest70 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get82.6 with the +30 Veghash
If you harvest 100 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get118 with the +30 Veghash
If you harvest300 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get354 with the +30 Veghash

OK, is it worth the BE enhancement? I would probably sell the standard Veghash for about 75-100 credits per use while the +30 stuff with a BE enhancement would have to be 600 per use if the current trend of 2k per medium BE additive remains and *only*that price is directly added to the price of the Veghash. 600 for 12 minutes of harvesting.

For the +16 Veghash the numbers would look as following:

9.6% increase in yield

If you harvest 10 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get 10.96 with the +16 Veghash
If you harvest 50 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get54.80 with the +16 Veghash
If you harvest70 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get76.72 with the +16 Veghash
If you harvest 100 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get109.6with the +16 Veghash
If you harvest300 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get328.8with the +16 Veghash

Do we give up on this or would anyone buy it?

I have made a deal with a chef whereby I should be able to get a steady flow of BE-modded vegash (or my choice of other foods). He informed me that he has some such vegash ready for me tonight, I will give it a try and report my findings
