This is just an informal poll becauseI am curious. What do you do with the resources (animal) that you harvest?
A) Sell them on a vendor/Bazaar
B) Sell them in person (to guild mates of others)/Contract work
C) Trade them for perks (free buffs, armor)
D) Give them away.
E) A mixture.
I have finally started mixing whatI do with my harvests. I mostly hunt for folks in my guild. I recieve free goods in general (at least the ones that apply to me..i.e. I don't get free weapons, butI do ge tfree buffs). Lately I have been dropping the resources that my guild doesn't need, on the bazaar. I sell for a ridiculously low price (1-2 cpu regardless of stats). Thte catch is, I usually only have small stacks, so I am by no means flooding the market. I just don't have it in me to harevst large quantities all day, I like a little adventure (how was THAT for going off on a tangent?). I figure that a majority of you sell your harvest outright, but i could be wrong.
A mixture......I don't go for the huge harvest either.....I sell to those who want, give to those who need, and use the rest for making stuff

A/ Most of the time. And like you I usually have small stacks of 1 or 2k that I sell for 2 cpu.
B/ Sometimes for high paying contracts.
And I would probably give stuff away/trade also if I didn't spent all my time alone in the wilderness.

A) Mostly
B) Some, will grow in importance
C) Almost never, bartering is inefficient in rl, inefficient in SWG
D) Only to "worthy" newbies (and mostly equipment not resources)
A few quick observations:
Devs have artificially reduced the usefullness of A) by placing pricing and item count caps to increase the incentives for having player vendors. Bad idea as far as I'm concerned.
We really need some actual transaction price information. All one can see at the baazar are the prices of the goods that haven't been sold yet. We really need a "last sale price" column or button.

I tried the whole contract thing with Fred back before I took a break, and I just got too bored. Nowadays I harvest whatever I happen to kill, I use what I got to make my camps and such if I need them, and if I got extra I sell it on the bazaar. Of course Im usually poor as hell.

Either
B) Sell them in person (to guild mates or others)/Contract work
or otherwise
D) Give them away TO GUILD MATES

LOL, right now?
I follow the group leader to the next mission and practice grind for survival XP But in the future I am going to:
D) Herb-Avian-Hides for a guildmate and IRL friend
I was a master doc supplying meds crates for GTE on Scylla and my 2 of my own vendors "Mon's Meds" so I have no real need for CR, I gave my IRL friend 2M cr when I left and all my stuff and he has started me back very verywell. I am here to have fun and be a Ranger.

i mix it up a bit. if there is a high quality high demand spawn going on, i will go there and collect it up. recently there's been plenty of hides and meat going from 50cpu to 125cpu on my server. aside from that, i give the rest to my guild members or random friends who may need it. i've never actually sold anything on the bazaar.

For me I would have to say (E). I tend to hunt alone, so getting large stacks of anything takes along time. As I shoot and harvest just about everything I run across looking for decent numbers on stats, I end up with small quantities of everything.

A combination of B) contract work and A) the bazzar.
I check the trade forums to see who's buying how much of what. I will go to that planet and hunt the shift dry, or until I have what the person is looking for. I usually only go for sales that willget em a good chunk of change. Then I buy new stuff and wonder what to do with myself. (This usually means wandering and exploring.)
If I have small stacks of stuff, I put it on the bazzar for 5-10 cpu. At that price, it usually moves pretty quickly, and in small quantities, I don't feel like I'm really undercutting someone.
Of course, I also hunt for myself, so I can have traps and camps ready to go in nice compact crates.

E) A mixture
B) is where the credits are at. C) is the most fun. Bartering is great stuff. I have a half-dozen suits of armor onlyone of which was purchased, a few sets of bio-clothes, plenty of stims and food: all traded. A) when I have stuff no one wants. D) when some desperate soul's story grabs my attention and melts my cold, Trando heart: very rare.

1. Sell large qty sell to crafters (1K or more)
2. Small amounts a used for my camps and traps
3. Rest...very small amounts... usually gets trashed to make room in pack.
** Idea... I like the option to be able to combine similar resources of different Quality and PE, to make larger stacks that is an average of the combination.
Example:
560 Tat Leathery Hide (Qty 800 PE 600)
+
440 Naboo Leathery Hide (Qty 500 PE 400)
=
1K mixed Leathery Hide (Qty 700 & PE 500).
Fellow Ranger...thoughts?

Give most stuff to friends. The rest goes for about 5 cpu on the bazaar.
