What it comes down to Phenix is this simple fact, -I- killed it, and I was the FIRST one to kill it..

I killed it. "IT" was a gallon of spiced rum, and it took me 2.5 days to solo it with no buffs or armor. When we get boats, I'll already be masters ranger and swordsman, which(along with the rum)will make me the first pirate on Kauri. I will raid the northern coast, starting from my house which I can say is the most northeast lot possible.

/swills rum

The Ranger skills are a cause of concern for many of the order, and Master Rangers are leaving sadly too often.

The Ranger traps are not befitting of "elite traps", Camping is largely weak, Rescue is largely impractical, Conceal is largely useless when compared to Mask Scent, Tracking fails to work as intended bearing in mind most creatures don't spawn till you are within 50 metres of them, or someone else has already found them, and Harvesting is not significantly better than a Scout.

It would be believed that Rangers would not be getting a revamp in 2004, and whether we are anticipating anything in 2005 is unknown.

Bearing this in mind, may we :

- Receive a revamp in the next profession revamp schedule

- Receive a boost for the interim period, of a harvesting boost

- Ask you to read The Outdoorsman proposal for ideas of how the Ranger community see the vision of their profession

Well it's an alternative. I'm just convinced we're not going to get a look-in till at least 2005

Only if they don't take our dev and put him on the next (after JTL) expansion, which will also be due in 2005.

Gee I hate it when I sound so cynical. <sigh>

On a brighter note, I like both proposed questions.

Hmm as far as i know, mask scent can only be 95% effective max where as camouflage can get to 98%. Although this seems like a big advantage, actually its not. I believe camouflage was created so that small parties of 3 -4 people could move "unseen" in the wild. Now think of the usual aggressive creature lair with 5 spawns around it, and the group of of 4 getting 1 check for each member on each creature. That 2% chance to get detected increases suddenly to such a scale that it becomes not worth it to camouflage your group. I think there should always be a small risk but the chance of getting caght for a master ranger with +25 camo should be a lot less than what it is now.

When I became master ranger first, I made a factory run of 150 dathomir camo kits with 18 charges but now I almost regret it

I would be happy if i could just conceal a small groupof3-4in dathomir, and move silently in the wild. As it is now, the first nightsister slave will break the camouflage, and take away the fun because that ugly spider 30m away from the slave will agro us as well with her buddies.

Is adecent camouflage against creatures so much to ask as a master ranger ?

Can we have command line options added to /areatrack?

I was just wanted to qualify my suggestion: I don't want Rangers to be glorified farmers. I don't want us to be condemned to being nothing more than order runners for crafting professions.

The only reason I made the reference to getting a harvesting bonus put in, is as I don't believe we are going to get a Ranger revamp for a long time, saying it could be a year or more is not pessimistic in my opinion. Therefore, I just felt it would be nice to have a little bit of something now, rather than <insert random pleasantry from a very busy developer here> for the next many, many months.

I appreciate the developers are busy. I appreciate there may be other professions out there as broken as ours (really? Well, maybe). Therefore the things I would like the developers to look at would be:

- Confirmation they're reading the Outdoorsman propsoal, consideration of where the Rangers come in the profession revamp priority list, and just some sort of boost for now whilst we're waiting for it - otherwise it'll never happen as Ranger numbers dwindle into irrelevance.

Oh my Gawsh!

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.
