Thread: Urban Sprawl
My understanding... and I may be wrong, but that house packing was put in for 2 reasons:
1) Make it easier for us to move...
2) to remove old structors of players that left without destroying all that they have done.
1 rocks my socks... 2 well I hope they do this very soon!
No kidding. some planets its seem like I cant go 1000m with out running int a player city.

Now convincing Devs that wont even move houses that block access to content, that's a different story
I sure hope they expand that "harvester/factory clean-up"-code they've been working on to include housing as well.
I can't WAIT for the planetary cleanup to take place. I sincerely hope the cancelling of structure costs is somehow part of that process. It is badly, badly needed.
Be nice if they increased the size of some of the planets too.
But i doubt they will get rid of the houses now for a while. They can't possibly do a housing purge when they just cancelled maintnance for those affected by Katrina.
I came accross a totally different situation on Dant a few days ago. I was planning on checking out a shop at one of the player cities there...and never got to go to the shop. There were massive voritor and hurrton spawns throughout the city.
SinceI am just starting over after being gone about a year I'm only at CL20...so in my attempts to get to the shopI got incapped twice by voritors.(It really sucked having one on the damn front porch of the shop). In the end I decided thatI really didn't need to know what that shop had to sell THAT badly and high-tailed it out of there.
I also saw that in a few other cities as well...massive bol and picket spawns wandering around inside player cities.
Never saw that before...it was...interesting.

Aye. There are a few HUGE static spawns, or more or less static spawns, of creatures and folk who have cities on the spots, or who expand out to enclose them, are having great fun.
Best laugh though are the cities on several servers that are pretty much in the maw of the Krayt graveyard. I was running an errand out to one of the towns and counted over 20 dragons in the town. Crafter I was out to visit was less than impressed, his guild had built the town way back and now it's over run with giant lizards, he get s killed regularly, etc... doh, MOVE!
