I think that is a Squad Leader skill, we may need to justify it a bit more. I did add the Airborne Rangers though.

My mistake, must have missed that one. After reading all the posts there I've changed my mind The more balanced Ranger (no disadvantages vs. Humans) seems alot more sensible.

You reminded me to post my thoughts there. That is kind of a technical discussion though. Sometimes it is fun to play comparisons (though I know Phen hates it!), and try to match visions of ranger with rangers in popular culture. I have seen:

I know there are more... anyone remember them? Basically I think the "balanced ranger" that you are talking about is a SWG Ranger that includes the skills to allow a person to role-play any of these types based on on their personal vision. And that would be pretty cool. Personally I would have a hard time deciding between the Aragorn Ranger and the Predator Ranger. I may have to develop a split personality.

Texas Ranger = Bounty Hunter

Army Ranger = Squad Leader

Hunter/Trapper = Scout

SWG Ranger.......nerfed.....no j/k, I love my profession. We should be some of both, not just limited to critters. Give us some love with npc's and pc's and I think most of the Ranger community will be happy. Most of us has chosen a side in the GCW, let us use our skill for what we believe in.

There is also the ranger that my son thinks he is, Buzz Lightyear of star command....space ranger.

I dont think im a texas ranger nor a classic woodsman ranger.I think of ranger and how i want to see ranger develop as the Recon Unit

Roles:

1. Pathfinding


2. Survival


3. Wilderness Warfare

Primary Skills:

• Stealth


• Tracking


• Intel Gathering


• Ambush Tactics


• Ground/Thrown Traps


• Wilderness Fortifications

Think of the film Preditor and when Arni rigs together those traps and snares and then mix it with preditor stealth crossed with SAS survival techniques Thats my ranger, thats how i would like ranger to develope.

If only you were a devs Owen. Man I would love that for us rangers. Very good content and rping for us there.
