Oh, I have seen the large hunting groups before. With something like a bantha or a krayt it feels right (and is rather impressive).

But to picture this tiny flightless bird that isn't as big as my foot (and I am a Bothan mind you), and 20 people standing around trying to pick it clean...

I can't help but crack up. It is a GU comic waiting to happen.

The surround you and you kill...harvest!!

I'm trying to picture 20 master rangers going Nuna hunting...

"I GOT ONE!"
*20 people gather around this tiny creature and begin skinning it*

Bwahahahahahaha.

400 cpu???? Oh. My. God. Can you imagine what buffs must cost if Docs have to pay this much?? I don't have much sympathy for doc complaints about pricing... but THIS I can understand. yikes!!

But the auction is setting the price (and therefore the Docs)and not the hunter.

Guess it kind of depends on "large stack"... however I was able to put together a 5K stack, solo, in just a few hours. We had an uber spawn on Tarq not too long ago, and some Docs were paying 400cpu for it so I couldn't resist. What I did was unequip everything (I don't even have novice brawler anymore so unequipped I was a wimp) and go get missions. Two missions usually gave me 10-15 nuna to kill (damn the babies!) at 9-10 units per nuna. With a group pulling missions that would obviously increase. Then toss in the whole "coincidence" that random spawns often tend to match mission spawns and it wasn't too bad..

Though I did pretty much feel like a prostitute.. no enjoyment, no fun.. just money baby... ;-)

I will see about getting on there to collect some for ya. So, maybe once I cap out on Medic skills I can get somebody on TC to let me train them up in Ranged Support 1 when I need AP.

It's actually not nearly as bad as it looks. Even if 400 cpu was the rule and not the exception (which it very much is not, 100 cpu being considered very expensive), avian and the herbivore meat are the two constrained resources. This means that you can essentially make a 20+ use buff pack with 22 avian meat and "other cheap stuff".

At 400 cpu * 22 meat (because you use a factory so "bad combines" become a relatively minor risk), and 20 uses, that is 440 creditsper pack. If you add up the cost of the rest of the resources, let's say the total is 800. At 1000 per buff, that is still 200 profit, and what doctors actually charge 1000 per buff recently.

Not to mention, by the time you get to that quality of buffs, many people do not actually sell those. This is probably going toa "me and my guild mates" private stock of buffs. (As charging a market fair price for using them would not be worth it for the doctor.)

Quite simply, doctors change what they do for buffs because that is what the market will bear (actually it will bearmore, but...), not because of the cost of resources. The "our resources are expensive" excuse is just that,an excuse. Note this is how it should be, as cost plus pricing is a very sub-optimal way to price a good or service, and should only be done when you have no other option...

Inflation in this game is so rampant it's not funny. Buff paks sell normally for 20-25K. Each buff pak requires 24-28 units of avian meat. At 400 cpu that's a cost of 9600 - 11200 which still leaves 10400 - 13800 credits to try to find more "costs".

With the insane rates of inflation that plague this game a doc could offer 600 cpu for avian meat and still makeprofit.

Not to worry though. I'm sure some doc somewhere will find a way to raise prices to "account for demand" or to cover some unknown "cost" that may pop up to start charging 50K per buff pak.

My biggest problem is not docs offering insane amounts of money for meat. It's offering insane amounts of money for meat and cutting off the sale because youcan no longerafford to pay your suppliers after a certain point because you offered such an insanely high inflated rate to begin with.

I usually don't even bother with avian meat because it's so boring to hunt. I mainly hunt hides for armorsmiths. The CPU is lower but you get waaaay more hides than meat usually and armorsmiths can usually afford to buy what you give them. Man I love it when dant wooley is in season.

Which I remind them of. Constantly. Also remind them that if there were MORE of us then there would be MORE supply... and on... and on... and on... and after 10 minutes of arguing still get the response: "yeah, but that still doesn't give you the right to gouge!" Gaah! Okay, I'm over it. Hehe. I love docs really. They feed my brandy addiction.

P.S. Do nuna's make noise? I can't remember. I hunted vir vurs on rori once for 10k of meat. Yuck. I actually tracked them partly by sound. Random missions would spawn as I ran by and I'd hear the bunny cries and turn around. But after three days of listening to them as I killed them... I lost something. My heart pounds whenever I hear the noise... or even see someone's pet durni. I haven't been back to Rori since. If nunas make noise... I dunno man, I just dunno.

We had a 1000 OQ spawn of that on Naritus about a month ago. Thank the gods that it was on the tail end of a 900+ OQ spawn of avian on Yavin IV. Was hunting chokus until my eyes bled...but nunas are far worse. I'd wait and pray, Calc
