Master pistoleer here and the problem is not missing the target and hitting another, it's the change of /fanshot everyone is talking about. Fanshot is designed to hit 1 target multiple times. Now it
indesrimanantlyfires in every direction at any target in range. This includes non-agro creatures and NPCs, lairs, and basically anything within 64m of your being. It is still a multi-fire shot, but the real problem is every shot hits a different target than the last...hense the reason pistoleers are dropping like flies now. That WAS our only worthwhile shot. It's gone now. Yes, we can change our tactics. Yes, we can stop "whining." But sorry bud, keeping quiet at this point is only going to make it worse. Don't wanna hear it? Leave.

This is effecting non-pistol users as well, so it is not just Fanshot.

The majority of the time I don't even use any specials with my rifle and I am aggroing social mobs as well as non-like mobs with no rhyme or reason. They are not showing as they are damaged, so I seriously doubt that I am aggroing them by tagging them with a stray shot.

The only way that works is if my missed shots on a target are registering as missed shots against all nearby mobs as well, and that is pretty **edit** stupid so I hope it's not the case...

I agree with JB at about 90% I personally think that the game should not be easy. I sometimes think that with all the exploits, the powergamers max out and gloat about their latest uber-kill.

I have experience with real life camo and understand why it breaks in combat. Yes once you shoot, the critter knows that you are there. The question is tactics and adaptation.

a possible solution to this problem (I hate complaining without having a solution) is a

/fade

skill this would work during combat and take a fairly high ham cost.
heres an example

I am collecting eggs for my easter egg hunt for the PA, I see a nest of aggressive big eyed jumping spiders. My conceal is on and i grab a few eggs. my conceal breaks and they attack. I use /fade to stop fighting and disappear from their radar. This is only an idea...bounce this around. I think it is a reasonable thing that we should be able to do.

No, not all. And check and see where your 'misses' are hitting. I paid attention last nite, some hit the lair, making the other beasts mad, leading to a mass attack on me. Check your "cone of fire" and what's behind the target. You miss your target and you may be hitting another beast or the lair. This is great, imho, you actually have to pay attention to position now.

Are you referring to the currently bugged fanshot? As far as I know, that's the only way your "misses" will hit something else that is not aggro (like a lair).

I agree with you JBMat. In fact, I'm loving all these social animals. Since Iuse alot of AoE attacks, I'm mowing through lairs like no one's business. Probably bites if you're a rifleman though.

JBMat, as some others have stated here.. no.. missed shots do not aggro other creatures. If you just looked how SWG worked you would see that wouldn't really be possible or a good solution.

And are you telling me there's a bigger chance my camo "falls of" if I'm prone firing my rifle than when I'm running at high speeds up a mountain? Hardly... if you had a camo that stuck onto you while running.. it sure as hell sticks to you when pulling a trigger.

And even then.. I don't care about real life comparisons.. I want game balance.. the cost of a camo is too high considering how often it drops.
