I use a 103 harvest droid when i'm primarily hunting for resources. I dropped MR, so I was thinking that it would help me to make up for the lower harvest mod. But Calc's answer got me worried...I thought droids harvest was independent of the owners harvest mod. I'll try to check.

Another scenario is when I'm grinding a new combat prof...killing mobs with good xp can take longer than the spoil delay...so a harvest droid is a good way of getting any resource at all in those cases. Harvested endorian wooly worth 2.5-3mil while grindig TKA. Without the droid it would have been 1/10th or less.

They're good for those occaisions that you know are going to keep you from harvesting right away, be it a mob of aggros or wanting to spawn as many from the lair as you can (speed harvesting). Other than that, I keep Fetch (that's his name cute, huh?) locked away in the datapad. He also makes a good storage unit for meat and stuff

IMO, a droid is more fitting to personal gameplay. If you don't like shouting out commands to have a bucket of bolts do your bidding, then its definitely not for you.

*Added thought: They also help when you're hunting in a big group and someone decides to start harvesting before the wave of spawns are killed. You have 30 secs from when he/she touched the corspe to send in your droid to fetch resources before it disappears.

Your right about the type of player. Some of my harvesting customers love using them, others don't like the slight delays. I don't sell anything less than a 100 rated droid to any Ranger, but some have been impressed with my 108 harvest droids. They pulled 5-15% more rresources at times. If you need the money, and the resources are going for high cpu, then the might be what your looking for. My 2 credits..........
