Thread: some thing practical to give us an edge

The most infuriating thing about suggesting ideas is that we see utterly no feedback. I know and understand that the Devs don't want to make commitments they will probably change anyway. But the core of ideas have been submitted about 6-8 months now and a few interesting side ideas keep emerging every now and again. However, no feedback whatsoever (bar /conceal not meant to be working on NPCs and reallocating the Dev who was to look at our issues to player cities - fair enough but can't he be reallocated back).
Perhaps with the new expansion we will be given complementary brick walls to bang our heads on. With enough experience on the head banging tree we can eventually ability the ability to become numb to the frustration of no feedback.
Sigh, in one of my frustrated moods, will probably be smiling against later today.
SWG
- Great graphics
- Cool settings
- No idea of game play (I mean come one, loads of special moods and social macros developed, how much brain power does it take to figure that they may actually be used if there was a seperate hotkey bar solely for socials)
Well, they could give us the Dev back if he wasn't working on the Space Expansion now (I read somewhere that the Player City Dev was now working on the SE and so no major changes could be made to Player Cities until that was done [I think it was the latest 19 questions/answers post]). It might seem wrong to keep us waiting this long but they need to prioritize. Good Devs who know what they are doing are hard to come by and even harder to train up to the point of being useful. After the SE, I hope things should move abit faster on the update fronts.

Just found out that there's a food that lets you burst run up to 5 times. Apparently it's not a game breaking issue or more people would be doing it.
It lets you burst run up to five times at the cost of your stomach space. Most people use that space for mind enhancing stuff or damage reduction. Using it for burst running won't be nearly enough in PvP. Fights can go on for over 5 minutes in PvP assuming everyone is prepared. Burst running 5 times is not nearly enough of a bonus. As soon as the 5th one wears out, you are dead. But, if you can do it almost indefinately and not use up any sort of limited resource (like stomach space), then it can become more of an exploit. Using the burst run food is a trade off. Having a skill that lets you do it is a bit more exploitable. I'm not saying that it can't or shouldn't be done. But there needs to be a big enough trade off that you can't just keep spamming it and use it to make your self uber.

an interesting idea, but let me ask you one thing: why?
Your justification to make it happen sits fine with me, but still it remains a mystery to me as to why in the world I would want to have another form of burstrun to more effectively sprint. You see, I use burstrun maybe once a month, no exhaggeration. It's a skill only required by people who need to run the hell away from a fight, and melee guys like myself are always the ones running TO a fight.
And yes, I can actually see WHY you would want this, however, it's a little too specific as to what people it's good for. The skills a Ranger gets should really be handy for all professions we use, not just one group, in this case ranged players.
It's useful for melee players as well. If you ever try PvP, you will need to burst run to close on your target (at least to do it without chasing for a few hundred meters).
