Got to give a /bump to my boy, Kago on that one.

<sigh>

I'm not one to say I told you so.....but I told you so.

We brought this one on ourselves. I lobbied for a very specific question regarding the status of traps working in PvP, and/or our harvesting ability being increased. This completely sucks. Now we have to wait another two weeks for Thunderheart to say in an answer..."oh yes...we think that is a possibility, sometime in the future" (he then looks over his shoulder to the devs, and says "We have these folks snowed, lets move on to a really important profession...the NPC Junk Dealer".

Did I mention this really sucks?

heh, i think fred covered it too...

yeh, i'm disappointed too... i was hoping for an answer to our more recent question (should be stickied) regarding /conceal and stealth, rather than something about the outdoorsman... but in looking at a few of the responses to the 19 questions, it seems that lots of other professions got the "wrong" question answered (BH, smuggler, SL, ranger, and possibly a few others)... like TH mistook first drafts from 3 weeks ago for the questions rather than the newer batches... i dunno..

Do the developers consider any part of the "Outdoorsman" proposal viable? If so, which parts might possibly be implemented in the future?

Absolutely. I am a fan of the "Outdoorsman" proposal presented by the Ranger community and whenever an opportunity comes up, I have pushed it as an issue and will continue to do so."

Or " Sure, every time we have a meeting I mention it and we all have a good laugh. Once we wipe the last tears from our eyes I always ask, "So, should we at least increase their harvest rate this time around?" but then that guy at the end of the table goes nuts and screams something about ruining the only viable thing for Bounty Hunters to do". I'll just keep pushing Rangers just remember that if you start asking for something new we'll have to start from scratch and the hard work we've put into Ranger will be lost."

Forget these questions allready. Let him just post a random fact for each profession instead. Can't get any worse than this.

It is a reflection of the vast importance of the Ranger profession in the eyes of the devs. It is pitiful, somebody should put it out of its misery."

Dizzy is meant for PC's and NPC's and not creatures. There is a slight effect, but it is minimal. This is definately a topic we can discuss further in our upcoming Combat Balance focus threads.

If dizzy isn't meant to be used against creatures, why do we have a trap that causes dizzy?

think on this a minute. During my last stretch of being involved with SWG, launch until december, I was a droid engineer. We complained, begged, bribed, and even threatened the DEVs to figure out what a droid was good for, since at the time they were good for almost nothing. as of december when I left for a while, the answers were still "yeah we see you're all pissed, but this is something that isn't as high a priority as these other things" meaning "just about everything in the game is broken to one degree or another and we simply don't have time to mess with droids, despite the fact that they area defining entity within the star wars universe".

So to get on with the story, I came back in early may, and look what happened: they finally gave droids purpose and functionality. The DEs finally got the love they had all persevered for, and it only took 11 months to get it.

Now, take into consideration that while we rangers have our problems in the game, none of the problems make us completely useless (like the DEs of half a year ago). Our problems may have to take a back seat for a while, so that other people with much more difficult and game breaking problems can be addressed. Not that I don't care if they ever fix our issues, in fact, I'm all about having my camo kits work against animals NPCs and players as well, amongst other things, but we simply need to be patient, make sure our issues are stated clearly, and treat the DEVs like we want to be treated. They are people too, with lives outside of SWG, and we all need to remember that.

Yeah they don't seem to give us very good answers to our questions, but hey, if they don't have an answer right now what are they supposed to tell us?
