Good points!

Does the HAM-eating come from the Action pool? I ask because ever since my Musician days, I pretty much have Tatooine Sunburns drunk every 10 minutes or so. I can't tell you how many times spamming specials has turned sure defeat into campfire worthy wins

Reply I have a scout going to Ranger, and I'm also going TKA. I'm not sure if it's the most effective combo, but it seems pretty good so far. I was thinking and it seems like rifleman would really be the best compliment, but I just don't want to go there.

"I have a scout going to Ranger, and I'm also going TKA."

That's a great template... So far it has worked out great for several Rangers (myself included).

Yeh TKA sounds awesome. Or maybe you could go more medieval and be a Swordsman hmmmm. Aragorn haha!

First I was a Master Ranger with BH LLC IV and Carbine III. The LLC was pretty effective, using overcharge 2 for 4k+ damage at 64m or cone 1 for 2k damage to the whole mob were quick ways to harvest. After a while I got sick of being pretty well off and listening to all the BH complaining so I dropped it and went full Carbineer (still MR). The Carbine was fun as well, makes you feel like a soldier and good for a support role but not so good solo as it really eats up the HAM quickly.

Since then my holo said master Brawler so I've been dropping Carbine and going up the Brawler tree. Turns out I love it! It's great fun to run around in my forest green set of composite with a long vibro axe or something. Feels really Ranger like to get up close and personal to the creatures, hack them down and harvest the goodies. Only problem is I'm not sure which elite melee profession to try, Pikeman looks the coolest for my character and feels right but I've heard that they're not on SOE's lovin list like Fencer or Swordsman?

So any advice would be appreciated.

Well, I'm not too knowledgeable about the Brawler professions, but recalling from past patches it seems you're right. I don't remember the Pikeman getting much either way when it came to patch time.

I am a Master Ranger/Master Pistoleer with some minor CH skills thrown in. I like the idea that a ranger would have an animal companion out in the wild. Too much D&D .

Haha! Never too much D&D when it comes to the Ranger. If anyone wants to look at where all these MMORPG's and the Ranger itself started from, they should look no further than the "father" of all RPG games. I heard from an inside friend that Bioware's developers actually have D&D sessions to spark ideas.

must be nice to work at Bioware

Im a Ranger/ TKA and I was a Ranger/ Pistoleer...

I had fun with both of them, different tactics for both of them lead to different results. Both are a lot of fun, but I am really liking TKA better

Ranger/TKA

if your worried about being mobbed just use a cdef pistol yo pull them but the damage output a lone from tka will remove most of the mobbing problems as they simple don't live lone enough to do any reall problems to you.

Was a pistoleer but need a meat sheild in the form of a pet to be effective solo and that ment not being mast of either supporting class.

Right now.. im still trying to get master scout. LOL my craftiung macro isnt working right so im stuck with survival 2 .

anyway currently i am a master swordsmen. I MAY drop that and try out riflemen its the flovaor of the moth right now . but it seems to fit. atleast on starsider. a decent sliced t12 with a 30% pu get up to 700ish damage at master you cap a 8.0 T-21 at 1.0.

PvE sowrdsmen is EXTREAMLY powerfull. but in PvP you cant hit squat with your power hammer do to lack of accuracy mods in swordsmen.
